Merry Christmas, Kaval! What a great company WWE is sometimes.
So, then. Kaval is the first NXT winner to be future endeavored. LayCool must be furious. All their efforts wasted. First losing the tables match and now their Rookie released. If anyone's Christmas is ruined, it's theirs'. On the bright side, there's an opening for me to become LayCool's new Kaval: http://twitpic.com/2f7wib
But seriously, what happened to Kaval is pretty much what we all dreaded and, let's be honest, assumed would happen to Daniel Bryan. I guess the "original Daniel Bryan push" had to go to someone...

That's what he gets for cashing his title shot in quickly, and for an I-C title match to boot. Then again, getting future endeavored helped Daniel Bryan. Merry X-Mas Kaval, and remember, if you move to Connecticut, vote Linda in '12.
Well if you're gonna bury a guy on the way out Tuesday Night is the way. He was jobbing so much that Horowitz was thinking of coming out of retirement. I'd bet on him going back to ROH.
Originally posted by MonteCarlI'm thinking he requested his release and it's not a case of WWE up and firing the guy. I'm sure we'll find out more within the next few days.
MVP likely knows what the story is:
The305MVP MVP "@CENATIONFAN87: @The305MVP Whats up with @WWE getting rid of Kaval?" How do you know he didn't "get rid" of WWE ?
Scratch another face for SmackDown. The list of the fallen babyfaces is now at Matt Hardy, Christian (injury), MVP, and Kaval, and someone else I'm probably forgetting. The list of credible midcard faces for SmackDown is at Kofi Kingston and...yeah, that's pretty much it. No one to potentially elevate, unless they suddenly get serious about JTG or **shudder** Chris Masters. SAVE US, BIG ZEKE!
I feel like I've read in the past that Low Ki's a guy who gets frustrated if he's not getting pushed as much as he thinks he should be. No cite, grain of salt, rumor mill, etc., but if WWE "didn't have any plans for him" it makes sense he'd want out.

I've heard the same thing. He's never been one to stay planted in one place for long. I think it was a bit of too much too soon as he was one of the ROH "Founding Fathers", and then was pushed pretty hard in the early days of TNA.
I suspect this was a mutual thing. Kaval had no future in the WWE. With the epic rise of Alberto Del Rio and Daniel Bryan, the writing was on the wall.
I had always read on the internets that Low Ki was some kind of really special high flyer who did incredible moves. I was stoked to see him in WWE, but I found him just weird, and not "good weird" but just an odd little guy, and his moveset looked really contrived, not legit. Is that what they mean when they say a guy's style is "too independent" for WWE? He had a really strange look and ring attire, and I just don't think the fans were ever going to embrace him.

It has always been contrived to an extent, but don't forget how many times we have all complained about WWE watering down a guy's style when he comes in to take away anything that made him unique in the first place. The guy could go in early TNA and ROH, and was one of my favorite guys to watch around 2003-2005.

Originally posted by wrestling observerWhile nobody has spoken in detail about Kaval (Brandon Silvestry) being released yesterday, as even to a number of higher-ups it came as a surprise, the belief is the decision to leave was more his than that of the company.
The situation appears to be the company made a decision they weren't going to do anything with him, and this led to frustration and him wanting to be released.

I think I read elsewhere that it was a mutual agreement because I believe Kaval wanted to be released before his character got too stagnant.
A shame though; Kaval could have had some really good matches with Daniel Bryan, Justin Gabriel and some others. Kaval was really fun to watch but the WWE decided not to do anything with him (if I remember though, the WWE was really trying to get Riley to win NXT and not Kaval).

What character? He wasn't around long enough to really develop anything.
Kaval has always been the kind of guy that believes his own hype. If he believes he's not being used to the extent he should be, he'll leave that company and go to one where he thinks he will be.
But I understand. In the last 14 months we've seen complete unknowns in the eyes of the WWE in Sheamus, Wade Barrett, and Alberto Del Rio, get the push to the main event. I can see the reason for some bitterness.
Actually, Heb did the "X" to call out New Jack to clear the ring. But the WWE does not have "Natural Born Killas" on CD, so that was scrapped for the Sweet Chin Music and Chokeslam. We could have had a New Jack/Spike reunion!!!
