I can't find a single article talking about it, but it was just announced on Sportscenter that Josh McDaniels has been fired. Apparently the spying incident was the straw that broke the camel's back.
EDIT: Well, I finally found a mention of it in print. Here's the link. As of 6:27pm Eastern time, though, all that link says is "The Denver Broncos have fired coach Josh McDaniels."
Firing a coach after two years always seems to reflect more on the people who hired him (the owner, in the case) than the coach themselves.
Am I right in assuming McDaniels lost the confidence of everyone in town that quick and earned his firing? That's what it kind of seemed like from outside.

You are right in both cases: Bowlen made the terrible decision to give too much power to a man who had never been a head coach OR a GM before and just about everyone here wanted him gone.
So now Pat Bowlen has to write checks to Shanahan, McDaniels AND and new coach ...
Josh McDaniels set the Denver franchise back at least 5 years by trading away Cutler, Marshall & Hillis, not to mention wasting a first round pick on Tim Tebow ...
5-17 in your last 22 with a home blowout loss to the raiders is "cause" enough to fire Hoodie Jr. He lost the confidence of the players & the town. Good Riddance.
And Tebow may have sold a lot of jerseys but now that his protector is gone, he may be gone too. (but then again, who is going to want to pay him that kind of coin ?)
Originally posted by LexusI heard on SC that Bowlen has brought Elway in to help with the situation.
He had dinner with Elway a couple of nights ago to discuss it. Nothing is official yet, but Elway has publicly expressed interest in a role with the organization in some capacity.

Just imagine if we didn't draft Tebow. Andrew Luck would be a slam dunk.

I am so glad the McDaniels Error is over.
Luck probably won't be there when the Broncos pick anyway. I doubt a new coach in Carolina will think Claussen is the answer, the Bills needs something to spark the franchise, the Lions won't touch him, the Bengals probably need to move on from Carson Palmer and if the Cardinals are ahead of the Broncos on the board, there is ZERO chance he gets past them.

Soon as I saw both of our picks were Kansas City, I immediately knew KC was losing. I originally had Philly as my pick, but changed it on Thursday to KC.
