Right now the Capitals are the worst team in hockey and they're trying to get better AND cut salary at the same time, since nobody's coming to games. Jagr's making $11 million this year, so he's harder to move than a whale. Nobody wants an overpaid player who doesn't score. Well, maybe the Rangers, but they've always been able to throw money away.
FLAMES: 9-8-0-3; 21pts SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS: 6 Remain [Darrah, Jon, Christa, Sandra, Burton & Lillian] TOP 10 FILMS OF 2003 [So Far]: Mystic River, Lost In Translation, Finding Nemo, Seabiscuit, Kill Bill V1, X2: X-Men United, Open Range, Pirates of the Caribbean, Matchstick Men & Dirty Pretty Things
The funny thing is, since the trade talk really got going, Jagr started scoring again. Almost like he can turn it on and off like a lightswitch and he's trying to get his trade value up so he can get the hell out of Washington. That Jagr-Miller-Lang unit has been going strong for a few weeks now...I wonder what'll happen to the other two when Jagr finally does get moved.
