Didn't see the game but I have seen the score on the tickers as Air Force gave NorthWestern a whipping. I was actually counting on NorthWestern to be one of the teams up top the Big Ten this year. Now I must ask is NorthWesten that bad?
A few years ago they had a good little run, but mostly they're the whipping boys of the Big Ten (along with Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Iowa, all of whom have had some fairly good years in the last few years).

As for Northwestern, they said on College Gameday that they might go off on a Duke-like losing streak. What was their record last season, anyway? 3-8?
Oh, and maybe it's a good thing my school doesn't have football. We're horribly mismanaged... among a ton of recent things, we just changed our mascot from a perfectly non-offensive "Braves" (we used crossed arrows... no actual Native American caricatures) to the oh-so-weak Bobcats. Like, one of my friends looked it up, and we're friggin' CALICO CATS. And wait'll you see the logos. Take a look... that one that's supposed to be a Q or something makes me want to rip someone's spine out. And yes, they're calling it "Thursday Night Madness", not, you know, MIDNIGHT MADNESS. At least I've only got this year here... -_-

Yes, and it's really too bad. I was kind of hoping they'd start back up again so that Anthony Davis could pick up the 20 yards he needed to make it to 100 this week. Now it looks terrible next to his 180 last week .

Nah - they can always break a losing streak by playing Northern Illinois University. I understand that's worked in the past.

Northern Illinois has knocked off an ACC team already this year, so it might not be a cakewalk for Northwestern. I'd give them a slight pass for Saturday though, playing the Air Force option the first week, in the altitude, with a 10 a.m. start is the type of game that can knock a team out quick.

NU will be back, just give them another year or two. They're not like the huge schools who are always able to reload, but they've gotten enough credibility to recruit well enough to generally cycle back upwards every couple of years. Which is cool, since my college didn't have a football team (some would say no Basketball team either, but that's another story!), so I adopted NU as mine.
You never know when you'll meet that special someone... the someone that's mysteriously blind to your flaws. or, you know, stupid enough not to realize that yes, you really are that cynical.

Heh... the only thing our school has that's any good is hockey. Although last season, we made it to the conference finals (as an 7 seed, no less) and did much better than expected (we were supposed to get murdered, but only lost by, like, 6). Of course, we were between mascots then, so for our big TV debut, we were the Quinnipiac... UNIVERSITY. -_-
As an actual NU student, I have to say that we suck. Seriously and Horribly. Mostly because our defense is thinner than the plot lines for most of the RAW matches in the last month. The only reason we won a coupla years ago was an insane amount of offense that was based on trick plays, audibles, and hail marys (Oh and some praying, too). I personally remember storming the field after we beat Michigan 54-51.
However, I doubt they'll go off on an insane losing streak. We do play some local teams. For Duke, thats NC State. Ouch.
I was at the Air Force/Northwestern game. Northwester is in huge trouble this year. Ohio State will run for 650 yards on them. They looked terrible in every aspect of the game.
Shouldn't be a "Northwestern-like losing streak"? After all, they still own the D1-A record for that very thing. Playing OSU, Michigan, MSU, and Wisconsin every year will do that to you.
Then again, NONE of them are Prairie View -- 0-88. That's even worse than my old H.S. team.
Headline locally is that Rosenhaus (oh right, Briggs *wink*) has already moved off his "will never, never, ever, ever play another down for the Bears" to "will play only the last six games".
