They talked about Ken Dorsey the Miami QB today on PTI on ESPN. From what it sounds like Ken Dorsey sucked so bad at the Combine that he may not even get drafted. They say he could not even pass the ball which sounds pretty bad. So how does someone go from Heisman Candidate to total cr@p in a couple of months?
There is a big difference sometimes between a great college quarterback and decent pro quarterback. In college, there are quite a lot of "system" quarterbacks.
Dorsey is one, as well as almost all QB's out of Florida in the past few years. I know, Wuerffel and Matthews are still in the pros, but they have been on several different teams and are in no way stars.
I believe TK and Wilbon touched on the fact that Torretta actually couldn't throw a pass. Look at the Heisman winners at QB in the past 20 years.
Eric Crouch. Chris Weinke. Danny Wuerffel. Charlie Ward. Gino Torretta. Ty Detmer. Andre Ware. The last quarterback winner to have any real NFL success was Vinny Testaverde, Heisman winner in 1986. And those are the winners! Guys like Dorsey, who are surrounded with enormous talent, but can get the job done, can be great COLLEGE quarterbacks. But it doesn't always translate to the pros. Good luck, Carson Palmer.

Worst case scenario for Notre Dame: They lose to USC and likely fall out of BCS consideration, but they might have saved Weis' job with the rally. If they had scored, I think they would have gone for 2.
