Anyone else see this? Not a bad film, a little depressing, but that was to be expected. The casting was a little uneven. For example, Harley Race was pretty spot on, while Ric Flair was apparently cast and performed by people who have never seen the man before, only heard him described. That being said I'd love to see this version of "Ric Flair" in real life. Anyway, I'd recommend the movie to anyone who is interested in the Von Erich story or anyone who remembers the old WCCW days.
I liked it too and thought it was better than I was expecting it to be.
They did a good job finding actors that looked similar to the people they were playing, except for Kerry Von Erich (actor was too short) and Ric Flair (Didn't look or sound a thing like him. And his "Woo's" we're the worst I've ever heard imitated).
And Zac Efron was almost unrecognizable. Dude looked like he put on fifty pounds of muscle. He looked like if Zac Efron turned suddenly into the Hulk.
I enjoyed it as well, as the performances of Fritz and Kevin were well done. I gotta give props especially though to Stanley Simons as Mike, who was just phenomenal. Yes, you both are also correct about the Ric Flair guy who was just embarrassing. There was only one scene that I found to be a total miss, and that was Kevin’s supposed vision of all the Von Erich boys being all happy to be together. It just felt all wrong, especially when we know it was suicide which claimed most of them. Other than that though, I felt it was a strong film.

I can´t wait for Sandman vs. Dingo Warrior! That will be great! Sandman vs. Wrestlecrap really could work! I really hope he finishes with destroying the whole Spirit Squad, but that´s likely not going to happen, right?
