I wouldn't expect Langston (an above average modern era pitcher) to be high on someone's want list, if you have 100+ years of history from which to pick.

What's whip? It's a stat I have seen with increaing regularity in recent months but have been unable to figure out its meaning.
EDIT: Just a guess that just came to mind...is it walks plus hits per inning pitched?
