Me too ... Hopefully they'll air the full two-hour premiere episode as a big "motion picture event" somewhere down the line (depending on the ratings, I guess).

Just take a flannel shirt and paint it red, Then draw a chicken on it, with two poker-dice for eyes, An' have it wavin' razors round its head ...
I think you might be out of luck until later in the season. On the good side, Wednesday's show was just part 1, so there might even be a "previously on" part at the beginning of episode 2. You missed a lot, yet not a lot, and everything I've read says that a lot of cool stuff shows up in episode 2 (the second part of the pilot episode).
The showing on Saturday is said to include the first two hours of the series. That would be the episodes of 9/22 and 9/29.
It's still pretty compelling for me, too. Watching last night, it seemed like a little more focus on the characters was brought in. I think it's going to take a few weeks to fully develop, but I like this show's chances of being something good.
I'm on the edge of being hooked by the show. The character driven parts are great. But I think we are already starting to see a pattern develop with the show. Develop the characters, give them a reason to go into the jungle, encounter a monster.
One gripe:

A polar bear? in the jungle? I could almost believe on the beach, you know near the water where they spend most of their time. Then it gets brought down with a handgun? Personally I've never hunted bear, but friends and family have and they pack a little more than a handgun. What was the Marshall packing, armor piercing bullets?
OK two gripes, I haven't watched much network TV in a while, but three commercial breaks in the first 20 minutes?
I'll give it another couple weeks, but I still don't know how long it can last before getting stale.
This show is more addictive than chocolate-coated crack. And keep in mind, I don't watch episodic TV all that much anymore.
brick> granted, but....

Look on the bright side...it could have been a T-Rex, plus it's not so much that there's this thing on the island so much as it's becoming clear that wherever this is may or not be a normal place they've landed in, between the mutant polar bear and the SOS message on a 16 year loop.
