Pujols had Helton beat in all of the sabertmetric stats, but had more errors. He should have won it there.

All in all, a better list than the AL GG winners.

I imagined Rob Neyer FLIPPING OUT when told of Jeter's win.

I again think it's crap that they give the GG to 3 Centerfielders and not do it by position. Why not give all 4 infield GGs to shortstop.

Edmonds only had a .988 fielding percentage, was is not that high.

Corey Patterson, for example, had a .997 fielding percentage.

I thought Derrek Lee would be a 1st base gold-glover for years to come after breaking through last year.

Disappointed that Alex Gonzalez (Fla.) didn't get the gold glove, but I can see how Izturis did.

Edmonds can also make catches that few others who aren't Torii Hunter cannot, like his grab in Cincinnati where he brought he ball back from a couple feet in the stands. It's true that a lot of his highlights are a tad overrated since he's playing a bit out of position, but still, he makes the catch.

exit 670 dot com - Ellen Muth is shocked. SHOCKED!

So, um, I don't want you to believe everything you hear at the parent-teacher conference, okay, 'cause...they lie. And they exaggerate. That's why they're teachers, right? Those who can't, right, Mom? Those who can't.

The problem with Edmonds being that in his down years defensively (and this was one), too often he doesn't make the catch.

And they give Gold Gloves to three center fielders, barring an Ichiro, because most left fielders can't throw and most right fielders can't move.

Gold Gloves are the worst and most haphazardly-given award in baseball anyway, completely without regard for what anyone actually did and relying mostly on what they've done before. Boone did nothing to earn his Gold Glove this year, Jeter was improved but still not as good as a LOT of other guys, Helton really probably should have been Pujols, yada yada. Fielding percentage is what they seem to look for when there's not a name they can just throw it at, which helps explain Luis Castillo. But it was certainly nice that Jeter needed a hug and got one.

I immediately sent out an email to him and I haven't heard back yet. He usually responds to his email. Maybe he quit the whole baseball thing because of that? Naw.

Do the Astros realize they are 1 up with 1 to go, and guaranteed at worst a 1 game playoff? Why on Earth would they pitch Clemens on 3 days rest when historically Clemens gets rocked on 3 days? Tied going into the last day, maybe you do it.
