BERN, Switzerland -- Atlanta Thrashers star Dany Heatley was hit in the left eye with a puck during a Swiss league game and could be sidelined six weeks after facial surgery.
Heatley was diagnosed Sunday with severe bruising and internal bleeding in the eye, his club said on its Web site. He will be operated on in a few days for a broken orbital bone below the eye. Heatley will stay in the hospital for at least a week, the team added.
I'm surprised this hasn't gotten my play on here. A story like this really makes me question these world class players going to play in international leagues because they are locked up... Is the reward worth the risk?
smark/net attack wienerville advisory holds at ORANGE alert - High (JBL is STILL WWE champion and now smarks arch enemy HHH is the World Champion. Major red threat, but the undercard seems okay. The alert holds... for now)- 9/19

Heatley got hit in the eye by a puck, though, which is something that could have just as easily happened during a practice. Bad luck. It's not like some goon from the Swiss League who couldn't get into the NHL without a ticket messed him up on a dirty check or something.

Normally I hate mascots. When the Blues debuted their new mascot last year I despised it (I guess its great for the kids and all but I digress.) However, a friend sent me a link to the new Phoenix mascot Pierre. Holy crap is this thing hilarious.
