I am incredibly happy about that. For me, Harry Kalas IS baseball. Just hearing his voice again in spring training gets me psyched for baseball season.
It unfortunately means that Bob Uecker must wait yet again. Given all the bitching about Uecker not being in the Hall in Milwaukee, yet a deserving announcer like Kalas making it, I wish I knew who else is out there that ought to be in, but isn't.
I don't know whether it would be more appropriate for Harry to introduce Mic-key Mor-an-din-i or Mar-i-a-no Dun-can to start his speech. I am sure we'll be hearing quite a bit about Rich Ashburn.
Let's hear it for the crew that prepared the field for a ballgame just hours after the Vikings beat the Packers. These were two GIGANTIC ballgames to prepare for, and the Tuesday set-up looked beautiful.
