WWE.com is reporting that Hardcore Holly, who very nearly died earlier this year due to a staph infection in his arm, is very close to returning to the ring.
I'm glad he's made a full recovery. But I hope the illness has helped him find a new outlook on life. If he's gonna really go back to being the same old S.O.B. that he even says he was in the article-- complete with legitimately hurting people for the most trivial of trivial offenses-- then I'd honestly rather he retire.

Yup, he beat Simon Dean in a dark match at Monday's double tapings.
Ken Kennedy debuted a new finisher: Jeff Hardy fans will insist on calling it the Swanton Bomb, but it looks WAY more devastating when not performed by a 180-pound fruitcake. -Rick Scaia 06.12.2006

Well, he didn't say his fans, did he? Maybe he just means fans in general.

When he and Crash first started doing the Superheavyweight gimmick it was entertaining. That said, it's been a while since then...
You believe me, don't you? Please believe what I just said...
Hardcore Holly is pretty popular among marks, actually. I think it's the fact that he's been around so long. He's been in the WWE since '94. That's longer than anyone still around except Undertaker, I believe.

And Shawn Michaels, if you don't count his 4 1/2 years off with the back injury...also, in the article he does mention them as "his" fans. I was under the impression that there were only two types of people: People who hate Bob Holly, and people who don't hate Bob Holly as much as the first group. But I guess he has some supporters.

Well, he's got at least one (The W), or did at one point.
Colour me a Bob Holly fan. I have no problem with him knocking the snot out of trainees at all, in fact, I encourage it. Somebody has to protect the business before it degenerates further into gymnastics and pantomime.
It is a great learning experience for sure to be double-crossed and repeatedly kicked directly in the face when you were totally unprepared by someone who you'd placed your complete trust in.

To be somewhat fair: At this point, wouldn't someone have to be clueless if they went into the ring with Holly and placed their trust in him? That would be total lack of preparation not to know what you are getting yourself into with his track record.
