I could have lived without the Jeff Hardy and the Edge matches. I also would have liked to have the Summerslam match against Cena instead of the one from RAW. I also would have loved to have Jericho and Benoit against Triple H and Austin on the DVD, as well as Jericho vs. Triple H from Fully Loaded. Nonetheless, this is one hell of a DVD! Just look at the documentary part and the tons of extras.

They didn't really have to. Benoit's on the new Elimination Chamber DVD set (albeit with muted audio anytime anyone said something positive about him).

No, his match with Hogan is on that list.
Ba-dum-bum.
Benoit/Jericho at Royal Rumble '01 was one of my favorite matches of all time... I would love to see it again... Jericho/HBK at WM is pretty high up that list too.

Any match Jericho had with Rey on SmackDown could make this DVD. I hope that PPV match includes Jericho reversing a running head scissors into the Torture Rack Drop.

I hope the documentary stuff is cool. Benoit's exclusion from this really sad. Jericho/Benoit vs. Two Man Power Trip was an amazing match and at least got Hunter away from Invasion. Their feud was epic and it almost erases all of his 2001 stuff which was amazing. I would have liked to have had both his matches at Vengeance for the Undisputed belt. I am not sure if the Hogan match is warranted on this when they could have added his rather impressive match against Christian at WM XX. At least they got some of the good promos on there. You could have a whole disk of just promos alone. I'll get it, but he needed a set a long time ago and hopefully we get another pretty soon. The lack of ECW stuff is depressing as his Mexico stuff where he was one of the few white champions and very young too.
This talk of Benoit has me wondering, has WWE re-released any PPV DVDs that featured Benoit matches lately? Have they rerun the commentary or just cut out the matches entirely?

The best of Smackdown DVD had TLC III: The Forgotten One. They had a brief shot or two of him and that was about it. In that match, he was injured early, so there wasn't much to hide plus it was a clips match which is a shame since it was a great match for its time and another that could have gone on the Jericho DVD.
A spectacular array. I can pay this the highest compliment for a DVD in that I will actually buy it and not download it.
You can tell that the wrestler himself must've had a lot of input into this since he picked the best versions of matches he had multiple times, unlike some of the other DVDs where they pick a totally average Malenko/Guerrero or Rey/Psicosis match just because they saw the two names.
For a DVD spanning an entire career there can't help but be a ton of great things they didn't make it. I could fill an entire DVD with Jericho stuff from the 2003-2005 period they jump past.

The Jeff Hardy match was meaningful for him IIRC because it was the first match after his comeback where he felt like he was really back and good again after the flat matches he had with JBL. It's how he got his groove back.

That match is apparently a big deal to Jericho because I guess it really meant a lot to Hogan that Jericho went out and played Randy Savage and carried him to his best match in years. Hogan came out of the match a huge Jericho fan and always talks him up as a legit superstar even though they'd seem philosophically antithetical.
The Christian/Trish feud though, definitely. They had two matches on TV (the night after Backlash where Tomko debuts and falls on his ass, and a cage match where Christian blew out his back) that were even better than the PPV matches.

I know for a long time Jericho said he wanted a DVD just so he could put that match on it to commemorate. But I believe TLC3 snuck out on the ladder match DVD just before Benoit died. The Las Vegas Raw TLC would've been good too although I'm guessing that ended up on the Utterly Macabre Demented Life of Kane or whatever. (Checking ... and no it did not. Oops.)

Shapiro is dead-on about the Malenko battle royal win and subsequent immediate title match with Jericho. The reaction when 'Ciclope' unmasked as Malenko was one of the loudest pops I've ever heard at a wrestling event. Maybe they're saving it for Dean's DVD....uhm....
Originally posted by Reverend J ShaftI still contend that Jericho's debut in WWF/E was the most exciting/loudest pop I've ever seen on TV.
It was loud, but Click Here (youtube.com) for one that was potentially louder.
You know what? Click Here (youtube.com) to see the Cruiserweight Battle Royal PLUS the above segment, although the pop seems a bit more muted in this one.
I need this DVD yesterday.

I'm shocked he didn't appear on RAW so Lawler could make a joke about Tenacious Z as a "one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest." If they're going for nostalgia points, I guess they could have Mad Dog Vachon manage him.
