Looks like Gary Payton is signing with the Heat and reuniting with Shaq. Miami is awfully stacked this year. They better hope they don't implode - I already have my doubts about White Chocolate and Twan being there.

Shaq might need every bit of his police training for this coming season just to keep law and order in the locker room.
Like I keep saying, there is no middle ground for this coming season; it's either going to be glory or disaster.

I get the feeling if things don't go as well as expected with Miami, Van Gundy gets thrown under the bus and Riley comes back to coach them. Probably could happen by January.

Let's see...between Shaq, Payton, Jason Williams, Antoine Walker, etc. etc. etc...
I thought Shaq left Los Angeles to GET AWAY from too many big egos on one team.
And you thought selling Amway was his career lowlight?
As long as Shaq and Wade set the example between them for everyone else to follow, things should stay in order. Because my sense of what happened in 2003-04 is that as Shaq and Kobe went, so did the rest of the Lakers.
But if Dwyane Wade for whatever reason goes off the reservation, look the fuck out.

The difference is they all want to win a ring. And they all know this is there best chance. So suck it up, win the ring and then go elsewhere for the money. It is not like these guys don;t have enough dough to begin with. The one thing they are all missing, sans Shaq, is a ring.

Gary Payton is getting old and his numbers are declining fast. He will not make a very huge impact. If you watched him last year when he was with the Celtics he was numbers even worse than some rookie beach players.
The Dallas Mavericks have signed former Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams to a two-year, $10 million deal with a player option for the second year.
