Well, shit. I use gmail for a lot of stuff.

Today I got a notification that my account may have been accessed from China on 7/9. I'm trying to figure out how this could have been legit and not an issue.

The thing is though, to acquire the files, you don't need any P2P software on the computer. The computer sharing the files needs the program, but can be accessed through any browser.
