No, not Sons of Anarchy. Although the dead count in this episode is close. We are all over the map this week. Ceresi makes an alliance with the High Sparrow to allow his people to beat the shit out of anything that moves. They have to be sinners of course. The top one is the Queen's brother, the gay one. He is jailed. Marge has a nice Two-Face moment where she blurts out that Ceresi hates her, but Tommen is stunned. Stunned, I say to hear that. He goes to see the High Sparrow who is praying. Tommen instead of allowing for blood on the streets decides to go home. If it were Joffery, we would be swimming in dead religious nuts. Marge being told of this decides well fuck this. Ceresi also sends her father way to Bavroois where Arya is.
Why Ceresi is obviously setting her son up to die, I have no idea. The wife theory is she wants to be Queen. We know she loves her kids, but Tommen seems to be choosing Marge. Did that change her attitude or has she gone nuts in a cunning way? Other people have stated, Ceresi has a giant sin, but High Sparrow seems to acknowledge it and lets it go. Now will crazy cousin who is now a sparrow be ok with that? I don't know.
Bronn and Jamie head to Dorne to save Jamies' niece/daughter. They run into some Dorne men where Jamie realizes his hand can catch sword strikes...duh! They, I mean Bronn buries the bodies. We learn the Viper's wife/lover has his daughters ready to murder Jamie. The sand snakes are on the scene.
Sansa is in the vault at Winterfell lighting candles. Littlefinger explains that Stannis will be here soon to save her. Sansa logically points out that Stannis is 0-1 in Game of Thrones. Littlefinger advises her to play the Boltons which yeah that will work. He kisses her too, yuck!
At the Wall. Melisande tempts Jon wit her lady parts, but Jon refuses. I wouldn't. After being dumped, Melisande says he knows nothing. Wait..how does she know that line? While that is interesting hands down the best scene has to go to Stannis. His daughter, who I adore, asks if he is ashamed of her. Stannis tells the story of how he bought a diseased doll for her and ignored everyone telling him to send her away. Instead, he got every maester he could find and saved her life. Why? Because she was the princess. His daughter hugs him and I change from #TeamDanny to #TeamStannis.
In Mereen or close to it, we hope. Tyrion and Ser Jorah are boating towards Danny. Tyrion figures out who he is and is on the outs with Danny. Don't play Clue with Tyrion. His reward is a smack in the face. Tyrion gets off light compared to others in Mereen.
Ser Barristan tells Danny about how Rhager would sing to people on the streets like a homeless guy. Its a nice story about the Mad King. Plus further proof that he was not right in the head. Danny is dealing with the Master who wants Pit Fighting back. I didn't know Dana White had ancestors in Mereen. While discussing the obvious trap, The Sons of the Harpy attack the Unsullied. The whores seem to be in on it as they set up the Unsullied to be ambushed. Ser Barristan is walking around as he hears the bells go off. Grey Worm is one of those ambushed. He fights off like ten of them, but is still surrounded til Barristan who shows why he is the best fighter in the land. He literally kills like seven in a row until he is knifed. Grey Worm kills the last Harpy, but both fall next to each other. Barristan is dead while Grey Worm could be alive...could be.
The other reason I am switching from #TeamDanny to #TeamStannis is Danny has no allies anymore. The Unsullied took a massive hit especially if Grey Worm is dead. Ser Barristan is dead, Ser Jorah is a 100 miles way and there no dragons to help her. She is losing control and will eventually hit rock bottom this season as it appears. So, you get off the soon to be crashing train and on the train that is headed to rescue the princess and kill the second worst family in Westeros. Of course, this is Game of Thrones, so Sansa is probably dead right about Stannis losing this fight.
Having not read the books, I feel confident in saying that Stannis seems to be the most level-headed character on the show. Unfortunately, he's got that crazy witch around him, so she's directing him in a bad direction.
I found it odd for Littlefinger to assure Sansa that she would be rescued by Stannis. It's a siege. Remember the chaos of the Battle of the Blackwater? If Stannis takes over Winterfell and his soldiers go in there not knowing or not caring about Sansa, she could end up dead.
I have to assume that Littlefinger knows how crappy Ramsay is, it's his job to know things like that. Maybe he trusts Roose to keep his son in check so nothing horrible will happen to her. Failing that, we know that Reek is there and would hopefully 'snap out of it' in order to aid Sansa.
