Now, the following statements from the linked article made my radar go up:
Following in the footsteps of a similar offer in the USA...
Unlike the US offer, however, the European deal is a bit more stingy with its software...
I ask again: WHAT US offer? (Someone brought it up in a recent Metroid Prime thread.) I've done some digging in the usual places (EB, GameStop, nintendo.com, gamecube.com, assorted message boards) and found nothing on its existence, much less any details. Did I miss a memo?

I've seen a package deal with Super Smash Bro. Melee and I think there was a limited edition one with Mario Sunshine too around Christmas.
I only ever saw it at Target, and I almost picked up a Smash Brothers Cube, but I bailed out because that would've put me farther into the read that I'd like to be at this point.
RAW Satire 1/27 Buffy 7.12 gets a 7.0 There was a lot of good stuff mixed in with some of that mediocre dialog.
I heard something on Gamespot via GameFAQs (a story I can't find a link to anymore) a few weeks ago about the US promotion being buy a Gamecube, get one of 4 titles free: Resident Evil 0, Mario Party 4, Metroid Prime, and... something else (Star Fox?)
And no, I haven't heard it mentioned anywhere else or seen anything remotely close to that offer in any ads or anything. ::shrugs::
