Yes, I am still alive.
I am currently the Circulation Sales Manager at my local newspaper, and have been for the past four years.
Prior to that, I was the Information Specialist/ IT Security Manager for the local power cooperative for five years. Wore a cell phone AND a beeper, and was on-call 24/7.
BTW, you ever hear anything from the rest of the ol'
wrestling-review-writing gang?
Just for fun, I turned on TNA last night and sweet Mother
Machree, there's Jim Cornett and the Dudley Boyz fouling the airwaves once more!
All they needed was Tony Schiavone, and it would
have been a time warp to ten years ago!
WWE? VKM will wriggle out of the Benoit mess and be as hated (and as envied) as ever, and the money will keep right on rolling in.
Plus ca change, plus ca meme chose, n'est pas?

Good to hear from you again, Chris.
Keep in touch!
From one Christopher to another, this has
been

former writer of the "Mind Squeezins" column and recapper of "WCW Saturday Night," "ECW on TNA," and "BattleBots" shows here at CRZ.net and elsewhere.
Pro-Wrestling Affairs
Journalist Emeritus for CBS SportsLine, via Wrestlelinedotcom of blessed memory.

Peace, y'all.

And those of you who have no idea what this is doing here or who this is can click over to this post (The W). If he decides to stick around, we'll try to get him posting in some of those non-wrestling places, too. ;-)

That's cool. I remember reading Wrestleline and EC was one of the writers who I really liked. Sadly, there were more I disliked than liked.

The good old days at Wrestlelinedotcom.

They were heady days for this recapper, lemme tell ya.
CBS SportsLine would email me and say that I had to be at a particular wrestling show, then actually BUY me two tickets and either Fedex them to me, or have them waiting for me at the "Will Call" window of the arena, along with the press pack and pass. I got to cover a WWF Smackdown show at the sold out Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, (spectacle writ large as only Vince McMahon & Co. trying real hard could make it.) Best WWF interview? Jerry Lawler. He was still gettin' him some with that lil' sweet thang whose name escapes me at present (she was Chyna's "Slave" in some dumbass plotline), but Jerry was obviously in MacDaddy mode when I talked with him. Just grinnin' like a possum.
From the sublime to the ridiculous, I followed it up a month later by covering WCW's Nitro (live) and Thunder (taped after the live show) on the SAME NIGHT (7 1/2 hours of wrestling! And all for free!) at the smaller (let's be kind and say "more cozy,") Knoxville Civic Colosseum.
Although I was a rabid WCW fan at the time, I can now look back and say without fear of contradiction, that nobody in WCW Corporate was interested in putting out a quality product. This attitude was not shared by their wrestlers. Some of them worked in both the Nitro and Thunder shows on the same night, and worked their butts off giving us a good show!
Best WCW interview was Tori Wilson.
If you think she looked good on TV, in person she was an absolute knockout, and just as friendly as can be! A product of American genetic coding at its finest!
I'd still be recapping if CBS SportsLine would have continued fronting me the tickets and other plunder.
Alas, some CBS corporate accountant rat in his rat's office must have spotted this free tickets dodge and put the kibosh on it for good and all. Wrestleline folded soon after, and I moved on to other pursuits, but...

Ah, memories!
