FOX' Lone Star (tv.ign.com), which I never saw, never heard of and won't miss.
Lie to Me* comes back early to take its place.
Recently, it's been FOX usually pulling the first plug (see threads from 2008 (The W) and 2007) - although it was The CW bestoweing the dubious honour (upon The Beautiful Life) last year.
Interesting, if only because the USAToday TV critic had Lonestar as his #1 best new show of the season.
Also interesting to me personally because I had been working on iPad promotional material for Lone Star at work. Hope I don't have to return the paycheck! =)

Odds that a cable network steps in and saves it?
Judging from Michael Ausiello's comments, bloody unlikely (ausiellofiles.ew.com).

"Low rated" or "canceled" doesn't necessarily equate "bad", just as plenty of mediocre or outright bad TV shows have gone for many seasons because they're popular for whatever reason. A great many wonderful shows were canceled before their time because they couldn't find viewers. I have no idea if Lone Star was any good or not but people either hadn't heard enough about it to tune in or just weren't interested, period.
