I have waited years for this, and.... now I'm disappointed because it's NXT. Not that I don't love NXT. I just think it would be much easier (and desirable) to find two teams of four on the main roster who have a seething hatred of each other rather than NXT. Also, probably no blood which, admittedly, was a huge selling point for me on the early WarGames matches. But hey, I'll give it a chance.
It appears to be a 3 vs. 3 vs. 3 format, so sort of like the 1998 version (except hopefully much better) but without individual eliminations. I think?
Undisputed Era vs. Sanity vs. Strong and the Authors Of Pain? Or does McIntyre compete in Wargames rather than defend his title on the show?
George Michael weighed his options. Maeby had chastised him for not taking risks, and what would be a bigger risk than perpetuating a lie about software just to ignite the passions of a woman? Of course it would be a lie, and since Maeby wouldn't know it was a lie, he wouldn't appear to be taking a risk. Perhaps the bigger risk was to tell his father he was lying, that he came up with it because he wanted his father to leave so he could enjoy what remained of his senior year. After all, he wondered, wouldn't that be the course of action taken by an overtly sexual man, a man who owns a pair of matador pants? He had not responded now for 41 seconds according to his unfailing internal clock, and it was time to come clean.
WWE is generally pretty good with wild multi man gimmick matches, so this will probably be pretty fun. I'd prefer the standard format, but I'll take what I can get. There's probably been less good War Games matches than not so good, so their chances of succeeding are decent.
I'm truly glad they're doing this in NXT and not WWE. While WWE could certainly put together an awesome WarGames match, they could also put together a completely clusterfuck. The worst I can imagine NXT possibly doing is meh, though I expect it will be excellent.
I'm confused by Authors of Pain and Roderick Strong being floated around as a team. Did I miss an Authors of Pain face turn or a Roderick Strong heel turn? I'd prefer a 5-on-5 match, though I'm not really sure who I'd team up. It doesn't make any sense to team anyone with The Undisputed Era, but they definitely need to be in the match. Same with Sanity, though I could see Eric Young brokering a deal. A basic 3-on-3 wouldn't really work either, though, so I suppose this alternative is acceptable.
I really hope they recreate this commercial though. It's one of two commercials from my childhood that still pop into my head on occasion.

Well, they might wind up with Regal forcing SAnitY to defend the tag titles (otherwise 2/3 of the titles are in this one match), then Young or Damo is forced to partner with someone else, probably McIntyre and maybe Strong, and for the third team, maybe the UK guys? They've been mixing it up with Undisputed Earned Run Average, and are great.
Matt Morgan (The 6'10" hoss from TE2) is getting great reviews currently, and is said to be ahead of the progress Lesnar was at the same point. I'd guess he gets called up before 2k3.
