Finally the Mavericks won a game last night. You may remember that last year during the championship series, I came on as the Dallas blowhard that said there was no way that Dallas could lose 4 in a row, the parade was already planned, yada yada yada. (I would provide a link, but I don't know how.)
Well, since that post, the Mavericks have gone 0-8. (0-4 last year to lose the series and 0-4 to start this year.) 0-4 is the worst start in franchise history. They weren't that bad their first year. They weren't that bad during the Quinn Buckner era.
Hopefully, my jinx is now broken. I promise that I will never, ever talk trash again for any of my teams (probably a lie). I have learned by lesson (also,probably a lie).
Also, due to an odd scheduling quirk, all of the Dallas teams are playing of the the Phoenix (Arizona) teams in 4 days. The Stars played the Coyotes and the Mavericks played the Suns on Thursday. The Cowboys play the Cardinals on Sunday. The Stars and Mavs both won, so GO COWBOYS, YEA Tony Romo, Woo Hoo.. It's destiny Cowboys can't lose!!
Yes, John Thompson is the TBS announcer and ex Georgetown coach, great great coach, don't like him as an announcer. As for the Jazz, Karelinko is another one of those good foreign players that nobody knows about.
