Those of you common to this board may recall I started threads about how stupid it is for Susan Sarandon and Jennine Garofalo and other celebrites who watch CNN for 5 minutes and then decide they can tell us who to run the world are. That's why it was so refreshing that in my European History class, the professor actually talked about his feelings on Bush and some of his policies. Now, I am a Republican, so I disagreed with some of what he said, but the man made some good points. But the great thing was, here was a doctor! A man who has studied his whole life, wrote books, and has TONS of credibility. The guy knows his shit, so I'll listen to him, I'd say his years and years of research and writing clarify him as a intelligent man who can give his opinion. If Democrats put men like this, who are great to listen to no matter what side you are, who can give good arguments and are smart on debate tours, it would be a lot better than a random B-level celebrity who knows jack shit about anything trying to sound like they are suddenly Oscar Wilde touring America in the 1800s.
RIP Curt Hennig: Yeah, they call me a redneck, but you know---that's a beautiful thing!
You don't get it boy, this isn't a mudhole... it's an operating table. And I'm the surgeon. Something tells me to stop with the leg. I don't listen to it. But where in the world is there in the world A man so extroardinaire?
Of course, the good doctor is not rich, famous, and funding a load of candidates and PACs. Which explains why the Dems have no interest in running folks like him out there.
There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. - Theodore Roosevelt, Ocotber 12, 1915
Please also note that having a doctorate does not necessarily make one uber-intelligent. It just means that he or she completed the requirements of a doctoral program where rigor may (and often does) vary by school and division.
Until recently, I was working on my doctorate in European History. Now, this might come as a shock (sarcasm), but a majority of historians are left of center. Especially now with this post-modernistic bullshit thats being perpetuated as history. Now, to be fair from the original point: Outside of the odd crackpot, most historians that teach in Universities are good decent people hoping to land the mythical big book deal so they can actually make some real money. Or at least get tenure.
Ole Anderson booking is a weapon of self inflicted mass destruction.
I just want to point out that no one's stopping any TV news reporter from interviewing Scott's professor rather than some celebrity. Do you think Bill O'Reilly did a long interview with Garofolo because A) Scott's professor turned him down; B) Democrats pressured him; or C)he knew he had a much better chance of making Garofolo look bad? Celebrities speak out because there are people listening...if you think we should be listening to someone else, your beef is with the media and/or the public.

Davis vs Recall: This is a laugher. Davis will be recalled with a minimun 60 percent of the vote. Coleman v Huffington: Coleman is a more realistic candidate than Huffington has been, which shows how bad she's been.
