I find it really hard to believe that this show's nine seasons in and hasn't had a Halloween episode until now.
It wasn't as funny as I hoped it would be, but this one had its moments. Although, good lord that thing with Meg and Chris...was disturbing. I actually expected Neil to be under the Optimus Prime costume, but Seth MacFarlane clearly had...other ideas. And what the hell happened with the payoff with Stewie? Since when does he EVER rely on Lois to bail him out of anything?
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not feeling the HD-era of Family Guy, so far. I wish they'd focus less on cool HD animation and more on...you know...being funny.
I thought it was one of their stronger episodes this season. The shock jokes of Meg/Chris and Joe sleeping with Quaqmire made it for me. Stewie going to Lois makes sense since he failed at his supervillain attempt with the rocket launcher. It also lead to a good scene with Lois shaking down the older kids' mom to the shock of even Stewie. The HD stuff is good with the Zero bomber moment, but using it on the fade into the police car was worthless then again maybe thats the gag of using a shot like that for a talky scene. I did love Stewie mowing down the street full of kids since he didn't know what Halloween was.

Sawyer had become too much of a sympathetic character over the first half of the season and last night's episode allowed him to get his edge back. It also set up a 3 way power struggle between Sawyer, Locke & Jack.
