With all the great dvd releases has done recently and the upcoming Benoit, Guerrero, RVD, ECW, History of WWE Championship and Bret Hart dvd's due out later this year, I thought of some dvd's that WWE should consider doing. Feel free to add your thoughts.
*Chris Jericho: "Highlight of the Night" or "King of My World"
*"Booker T: Dig That Sucka!"
*"It looked good on Paper: A look at wrestling's worst gimmicks and angles."
Now wasn't WWE already planning a WWE DVD that was due out this year but delayed indefinitely? I wonder what happened there and when it will finally come out.
I personally want to see a Sting DVD since WWE owns all that footage too, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. A DVD for Owen Hart would be equally awesome as well.

The only "Big Name" guys they have yet to do are Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Jericho, Rock, Austin & Triple H. HHH is still active enough (and young enough) to hold off. Ditto for Jericho, but he has a lot more good matches to use. Plus, a HHH set would use up some Rock matches and Austin matches. And let's forget about Hogan for now, since he didn't have a big selection of "good" matches.

Hopefully, the ECW and Bret Hart DVDs will be excellent.
The opportunity for WWE to make a Booker T DVD came and gone when Booker lost to HHH at Wrestlemania XIX, as that was the nail in the coffin of not only Booker's top superstar-like push and persona, but also any chance of him being an established big name in WWE history. I could have seen them making an Eddie-type story DVD with a few matches thrown on then, but now, highly unlikely.
I hope they wait for a long time to make a Jericho DVD. As opposed to the rest of these DVDs, Jericho still has a long way to go. Instead of busting their marketing load prematurely, they should properly develop these ideas first and then four or five years down the road when hopefully Jericho's career as a main eventer has picked up and reached completion, then they can consider this. I agree about the Angle and Wrestlecrap-like DVDs, and they can use ECW and WCW angles as well for the latter.
As for other DVDs, when Austin makes his return, they should come out with a legitimate Austin DVD in the vein of these other match-based DVDs. Austin's had a bunch of discs, but most of it is recap, not content.
They should really utilize the WCW footage somehow. Come out with a 5-disc Best of WCW collection, because there's way way too much good stuff we may never see again.
Actually they already did a Hogan DVD a couple years ago called, "Hulk Still Rules." Vince talked about a Bret DVD on Off The Record that Bret might even host himself. An Owen DVD would be great too. A DVD set w/ The Rock would probably sell big even though his era was the World Wildlife Fund blur period. And since I'm on that subject; I'm watching Mick Foley's Greatest Hits & Misses the other day and I'm just staring at my screen asking myself, "What's the point to this blurring." Are we not supposed to know what's on the turnbuckles, ring apron, entrance set, announce table, rafter banners, etc.? They took the name but to have Vince blur the logos is completely pointless.

No way. WWE could NEVER do something like that right. Look at that godawful "WWF Funniest Moments" video (or whatever it was called) from a couple years back. They don't even know what's funny about their own show - no way in hell a video about what they think is bad would be worth watching.
The problem with a video like what you suggest is that although they'd slip some deserving stuff in there like Mantaur or Giant Gonzalez or Beaver Cleavage, they'd also lump in fairly successful acts like I.R.S. and Doink just because NOW they decide to look back and retroactively take a dump on it just because they can. You can almost hear the revisionist history sound-bite from Vince...."Oh my! What were we thinking? A-ha-ha-ha-ha!" Meanwhile, they show "hilarious footage" of Earthquake, writing him off as a mistake...which makes zero sense since he was a top heel for quite a while and had a big feud with Hogan.
Unless it was put together by a clear-headed third party (and they'd never let someone else do it), I'd rather not see anything like that.
A year-by-year 'Best of WWE' DVD starting at around 1984 up until present where you have the major angles discussed, any major happenings behind the scenes that WWE now consider okay to discuss in the open and the best matches of the year shown in full. Chances are it won't happen since WWE can just have fans buy each PPV individually on DVD now that they're remaking them, but it'd be a sweet thing to have.
The only "Big Name" guys they have yet to do are Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Jericho, Rock, Austin & Triple H.
Actually, They did a Hulk Hogan set. It's called Hulk STILL Rules, and has the greatest easter egg ever. The Hulkster playing bass with the band on TNT. No not playing in the band on nWo nightcap, the old WWF TNT show.

I'm surprised Vince hasn't authorized a "Best of the McMahon's" DVD. There's certainly enough footage...Shane's highspots alone would probably be worth buying it. Plus we can see Steph's acting skills and chest size progress over the years.

I could swear there were rumors concerning a Vince Mc Mahon VHS called "Donīt cross the boss" back in 99!
Most realistic DVD collections (from what they HAVEN'T already said they would release):
Chris Jericho RVD Kurt Angle The Undertaker (a FULL collection of his matches from 1990-present; will probably get the whole 3-disc send-up)
Ones I would love to see one day, but I just don't think are imminent:
Rowdy Roddy Piper (the classic WWF footage alone would make it a goldmine). Best of WCW series Ultimate Ric Flair Collection Volume 2 (there's more than enough footage to do it again) Sting
6/4/04: One-time, one-time, one-time, one-time, one-time W of the Day!!!

They'd never do it, but RD Reynolds would be a great choice to assemble such a DVD.

I'm a history buff and I'd love to see a title history set of DVDs. Have 3-5 years on a disc and show all title changes and key title defenses.
If people are shelling out a hundred bucks for a season of Star Trek, I bet they could sell a 5 disc "Best of the Tag Titles, 1980-1985" for 75 bucks or so. I think it would be neat in a geeky kind of way.
I still say they should do a Kurt Angle DVD (2-3 Disc). I know they'll want to hold it off until Kurts official 'retirement', but they can always do another. A few things they should have on are:-
*The Olympic Gold match (if they can get rights) *Vs. Stasiak (Debut, S Series 99) *Vs. Tazz (R Rumble 2000) *Vs. Benoit & Jericho (WM 16) *KOTR 2000 matches *Vs. Rock & HHH (S Slam 2000) *Vs. HHH (Unforgiven 2000) *Vs. Rock (No Mercy 2000 First WWF Title) *6 Man HIAC (Armageddon 2000) *Vs. Rock (No Way Out 2001) *Vs. Benoit (WM X7) *Vs. Benoit (Backlash 2001 Submission Match) *Vs. Benoit (Raw, THAT Cage Match) Possibly, but it's already on that greatest steel cage matches DVD *Vs. Shane (KOTR 2001) *Vs. Stone Cold (Unforgiven 2001) *Vs. Edge (Backlash 2002) *Vs. Edge (J Day 2002 Hair vs. Hair) *Vs. Hogan (KOTR 2002 Hogan taps!) *Vs. Taker & Rock (Vengeance 2002) *Vs. Rey (S Slam 2002) *Vs. Rey and Edge w/ Benoit (No Mercy 2002) *Vs. Benoit (R Rumble 2003) *Vs. Lesnar (WM X9) *Vs. Lesnar (S Slam 2003) *Vs. Cena (No Mercy 2003) *Vs. Eddie (WM XX)
*Interview with Kurt about his career in Amateur and Pro wrestling, his best matches etc *Various highlights from his career summed up in one package *His most memorable promos and vignettes (With EKC, Austin etc) *Interviews with colleagues about Kurt
It begins and ends with The Ultimate Randy Savage Collection, ladies and gentlemen. (He did an interview with one of the WWE magazines promoting his rap CD last year, so they're on good terms and I'm sure he'd be willing to get behind a venture that would only make him money and require little to no personal effort.)
Matches should include: *v. Dynamite Kid (Tournament semi-final, The Wrestling Classic, 1985) *v. Tito Santana (Intercontinental Title win, 1985) *v. Ricky Steamboat (Wrestlemania III) *v. Honky Tonk Man (SNME, 1987) *v. Bret Hart (SNME, 1988) *v. Ted DiBiase (WWF Title win, tournament final, Wrestlemania IV) ----(I wouldn't object to showing the other three Savage matches from that night as well - only the Valentine one was any good, but the others were pretty short) *v. Ted DiBiase (Steel cage match with psychotically overzealous fan interference) *v. Hulk Hogan (Wrestlemania V) *v. Jim Duggan (Crowning of "Macho King") *w/Sherri Martel v. Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire (Wrestlemania VI - I'm serious. I was a huge mark for everything Dusty did in the WWF. Looking back, I have no idea why...) *v. Ultimate Warrior (Wrestlemania VII) *v. Jake Roberts (Tuesday In Texas - more importantly, we need some serious retrospective stuff for this feud) *v. Ric Flair (Wrestlemania VIII) *v. Ultimate Warrior (Summerslam '92) *v. Crush (Wrestlemania IX - Falls Count Anywhere) *whatever WCW stuff didn't totally suck. Nothing much is coming to mind, Savage had pretty much lost it by then, but I'm sure there's a good match or two with Flair or DDP out there.

That Randy Savage list looks perfect! It's amazing how many of those matches I have scattered on various tapes. It would be sweet to have 'em all on one set. You have to leave room for promos and of course the Elizabeth wedding and reception. I actually have that "Macho Madness" Coliseum VHS where the fan climbs the cage and starts punching Dibiase. Crazy. To nitpick, the SNME Bret Hart match was November 1987, I only remember because we watched it in our hotel on a class trip to NYC. I remember thinking how odd it was to see a Hart Foundation member in a singles match. I'm sure Easter Eggs would include Slim Jim ads and maybe a clip of Randy in his baseball playing years. (Cardinals farm system? Reds?)
It's probably because they have Kurt Angle doing a commercial for it, and not simply a logo on screen somewhere, that they're getting paid whatever they're getting paid by the sponsor.
