Of course the Clippers organization didn't fire the guy who has been an abysmal coach now for years, he finally decided enough was enough and fell on his own sword Click Here (sports.espn.go.com). Dunleavy will be staying on as GM, but I don't think that's the worst move in the world. He has shown flashes of competence in the front office which is more than a lot of teams have going for them in that spot.
LOL @ your thread title putting "Clips" and "hope" in the same sentence.
They went with Dunleavy's assistant to replace him, when they probably should've gone with someone brand new that the players werent tired of listening to already. I was rooting for Avery Johnson.
It's tough to hire a coach in the middle of the season. Hiring the assistant for the rest of the season then trying to make a splash in offseason sounds wise.
According to a source close to the situation, the Clippers have reached out to [Isiah] Thomas -- who coached the Indiana Pacers and also the New York Knicks -- to take over coaching, general manager and president duties.

Not to mention to save himself the albatross of having to buy Clippers season tickets.

I'm not sure there isn't a better fit in sports. As a Knicks fan I hated the Isiah era and we are still paying for it today, but it was an entertaining ride.

I wonder what the difference in prices are between lakers and clippers season tickets.
For someone that loves basketball so much, you'd think Simmons would rather see the better team every night. Unless, having clippers tickets is column fodder and he just cant bring himself as a celtics fan to buy lakers tickets.

Some googling says that Lakers have a waiting list (possibly over 1,000), while Clippers allow you to buy right away.

Locally, the ads in the paper for Laker game are always "COME TO STAPLES AND SEE KOBE, PAU, AND THE LOS ANGELES LAKERS!!", while the ads for Clipper games are always "COME SEE THE CLIPPERS WHEN THEY HOST LEBRON JAMES, DWYANE WADE, AND ALL YOUR FAVORITE NBA SUPERSTARS!!"
Looking at Ticketmaster, Lakers tickets are almost double Clippers tickets. For example, tickets in the 115 section (behind one basket), are $115 for the Lakers, and $63 for the Clippers).
The Clippers also tend to slash their ticket prices a lot. I've even grabbed some of the cheap seats for 5 bucks or less. That would NEVER happen with the Lakers.

Taking over the offense with leading scorer Monta Ellis sidelined with a knee injury, Curry recorded his first triple-double with a career-high 36 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds as Golden State beat the Los Angeles Clippers 132-102 to snap season-high nine-game losing streak Wednesday night.
Not only could the Clippers not beat a 14-37 Warriors team that didn't have their top two leading scorers, but they got PASTED. Nothing to see here. Same old Clippers team.
Hell, Dunleavy's departure just might have made them WORSE.

And I bet if you told the Clips before the game that they were going to put up 102 against Golden State, they would have thought they were going to win handily.

Man going to a big 10 school (granted one that isnt involved in the challenge this year), I thought that was quite embarassing. ACC went 7-2 this year against the big 10! On top of that, some of the games against the better teams werent even close.
