Drake Wuertz was (finally) released today as part of the latest round of NXT cuts. If you hadn't heard this story, basically he had fallen head-first into QAnon land, wouldn't stop talking about it at work, got demoted from head ref, got suspended, then came back and hopped on a local FL county Zoom meeting to rant and rave about mask conspiracies while wearing his NXT polo shirt (and IIRC while *at* the PC). And that's surely the short version of what's only been reported.
Also cut: - Alexander Wolfe (after being kicked out of Imperium last night) - Jessamyn Duke (who hasn't been on TV since RAW Underground) - Vanessa Borne (who I didn't think was even there anymore) - And another ref and some misc trainees that had barely been on TV yet.
The big loss is Wolfe, who has been consistently great for years, no matter how little they had for him to do. Not sure what the story there might have been. Drake's a bit of a loss as well; a great referee (to the point where my wife has been referring to all refs as "drakes" for several years now), but frankly, we "lost" him a while ago.

If Wolfe's Twitter is to be believed*, it wasn't a release so much as he didn't reup with his contract expiring.
