Looks like the server stopped responding from about 1700 until I called XO to get them to powercycle it. We have no idea why, but there you go. If I hadn't been asleep I might have noticed sooner. Aaron and Adam are apparently also asleep. ;-) Wow, look, every word started with "A" there!

The following post expresses the opinions of a raving Jerichoholic. He is biased, opinionated and bitter. You have been warned.

To be uber-technical, alliteration is when consonant sounds are repeated over and over again, like "Don't dump Dumb Dora's dopey dingus" or something like that. I'm lost as to what the proper term for vowel sounds repeating is, though.

As of Monday, May 9 at 1:14 PM, the Boston Red Sox' Magic Number to clinch the AL East is 135. A combination of 135 Red Sox wins and New York Yankees losses will guarantee the AL East for the Boston Red Sox.

I noticed the site wasn't responding earlier, and I considered e-mailing or IM'ing someone about it, but I thought it was just my dial-up connection being dopey again. In the event that we notice something's not working in the future, do you want us to attempt to contact anyone as a heads up?

I went home from work early today to miss the worst planned traffic jam in San Diego county history.

The 805 / 5 Merge was closed this morning from 2am until 9am due to a downed power line. In order to fix the lines, they were going to shut the freeways down again at 4pm... so I bailed work at 2:30 to miss any traffic issues.

I've been playing Zelda since then.

Normally, we would notice this stuff sooner.

On a side note, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the server completely died one of these days. It's really old tech, and the HD in it is IDE. We're running off of a Pentium 300 with 192 megs of RAM and a 10 gig HD. This was my personal computer in 1998,

Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.

Hey, this server's got *512M* in it, so there.

We always welcome outage reports via IM or email...the worst that'll happen is we'll laugh at you if you're wrong. ;-)

and consonance is the repetition of consonant sounds in places other than the beginning of words, I believe.
