...if the board comes up and down for a little bit in the next few hours. I'm going to do some minor database changes, and I may need to bring down the board temporarily to do so.
I'm not sure if I can add columns without locking the tables first. This MySQL stuff is a little different than the MS SQL servers I work with daily.
I'll update this thread when I'm done. Don't stress... it won't be much downtime at all - probably a total of 5 minutes over the next two hours.
I work Mon-Fri 10am - 7pm Pacific... so I can get away with some late night hours if I have to.
Generally, during the day, I actually am working when I'm posting. I have 3 machines on my desk, and I'm usually doing e-mail and a few stored procedures or queries on one of the other two while I post.
BTW-- I hope you don't think I was implying that you "do nothing." I wasn't. I was implying that you and your brothee are inhuman vampires or something. It just seems like you guys are workaholics (here and whereever you actually get paid, too!) =)
Well, that's the beauty of the system. I work 10-7pm and CRZ works nights at his job, so usually one of us is up and near a computer. It makes it easier to moderate stuff. We have really good overlap just with our working hours, and I generally stay up until well past his shift starting, so we almost have 100% coverage of someone lurking here.
