For you Padres fans not in SoCal, the Giants/Friars game will be part of the MLB Extra Innings Free Opening Week package. And since the Giants announcers are pretty decent (I think it's still Kuiper and Krukow), the game won't be horrible to listen to.
Thank you Cox Cable. And a special shout out to all their employees. :>
The game is being done locally in HDTV and regular cable formats by Channel 4 Padres.
I'm probably going to have to buy an HDTV just becaue of this - they are going to carry 100 games in HD format this season.
Another great reason to stay with your local cable providers - local content that the satelite companies can't match.
Damn, and I'm even on vacation this week.
(edited by Guru Zim on 8.4.04 1845) Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.
Kruk and Kuip are WONDERFUL, and I'm not even a Giants fan.

In the context of baseball, the use of drugs hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, the use of alcohol hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, womanizing hurts whom? Maybe the wife of the player? In the context of baseball, felonies are crimes against society, not against baseball. In the context of baseball, gambling is the only crime against baseball.
Gambling, in the context of baseball, is a capital offense and Rose has richly earned-- hell, he agreed to-- his death sentence. Let him hang.

(Speaking of HDTV, as it turns out, Cox is now offering HD here. It looks like my not buying the HD Convertor for my TV last summer may have finally paid off, since I'll have to get the Digital HD box anyway.)
Wow...nothing beats being told off for simply having an opinion! I understand the situation, Chief. I just don't care if he did or did not take steroids...if there was a policy on it at the time, then so be it. Suspend him when/if he was using...
