The Houston Rockets are close to a deal that would add veteran center Dikembe Mutombo as the backup to Yao Ming, a television station reported Thursday.
The Rockets would send Eric Piatkowski, Adrian Griffin and Mike Wilks to the Chicago Bulls, Houston television station KRIV said in a report citing anonymous NBA sources.
The deal, which could be done as early as next week, needs the approval of Bulls ownership and the NBA, the station said.

It's “burgleflickle”, actually, and I can't imagine Mutombo would have had all that much impact on the Bulls in any case. Piatkowski and Griffin, on the other hand, might prove to be servicable reserves. I have no idea who the heck Mike Wilks even is, of course, but since I don't know who he is I assume he's at least got youth on his side. ;)

Okafor is 14/11 in his career, younger, and he didn't fail a physical in the past season. This seems like one of those Larry Brown falling in love, then out of love with a player situations.
