Debuting tonight, on Smackdown ... Josh Matthews as ring announcer! C'mon, he's paid a whole buncha dues dealing with Cat on Velocity -- the boy deserves a little Smackdown exposure. I thought he did a good job, actually. :-)

Is Orlando Jordan going to be the Undertaker's new pet project, since Nathan's been out injured for so long? Or do we suppose this was this just a passing paternal urge?

I'm still not over the revamped Bradshaw look. With the long, dark hair, he had "a look" that was pretty unique & very identifiable. But this way, he kinda, almost, sorta looks ... good.

We never even met Aunt Lucille, but now she's among the dearly departed. (If we hadn't nailed her to the perch, she'd be pushin' up daisies.) "Nidia, give him [the lawyer] one of those special kisses!" So she zooms laser-like toward his fly. You've got to love Nidia. And Tazz singing "You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille." Badly. Loved it.

Nearly no Sable tonight! Hoooray! Although Vince using the word "deflowered" was .. creepy.

I really think they're trying to push Velocity & Heat. They mentioned Benoit & Rhyno on Velocity several times. I really don't think its intended as a burial.

First, minimal Sable. Then, minimal Ass of Death. We may be onto something here.

Nice match with Eddie & Tajiri vs. Sean & a bit of Roddy. Is NYC bereft of lowriders? Its a shame that Roddy's gone now -- I enjoy him in appropriately sized bites. Hopefully it won't end up being a bad thing for Sean. (I don't think the world is ready for O'Haire's Lair. Personal invitations would be gladly accepted however.)

Nice bustier, Steph! Dipping into the trousseau a little early, it seems. The red (p)leather skirt was a little much though.

Zach did an OK job with his speech, & you only have one chance to draw out the "get the kid a contract" thing, but I'm getting pretty bored with Zach. And Vince really needs to keep his ass in his pants, unless he's going to do something really interesting with it.

The much anticipated debut of Ultimo Dragon, in a match with Shannon Moore? No offence to Shannon (He did a very nice job, & I think he's actually better than we usually get to see.), but I was expecting something more ... more. They debuted Rey Mysterio with Chavo (see CRZ's description (slashwrestling.com)), & it was good. Maybe I was having one of those expectations problems, but this wasn't really a flashy showcase of the guy's talents. He certainly did a couple of tres cool moves, but I expected more. The ability to toast wieners (?!!?!!) in his entrance flames is pretty spiffy though.

I'm always happy when the Donkey Kong rhino makes the jump across the gorge.

Lots of excellent stuff in the main event. I love having Kurt back, the boys are doing great, & Brock didn't seem to be having any problems with the reported gashed leg. Even Mr. America was working in with the boys pretty successfully.

There was something rather Carmen-esque about Steph & her décolletage sprawled out across Zach. Needless to say, I'm not exactly holding my breath for next week's Zach/Steph vs. Big Show match. Does this mean that Vince has forgiven himself for stealing Steph's innocence?

My SD was limited in viewing unfortunately. Damn chicks that don't watch wrestling calling me on the phone, blah blah blah, horrible. Anyway, what I did notice was a new announcer - nice! He seemed to do a fine job by me. Then again, I'm surprised I even noticed.

Orlando Jordan, nice match. Cena is always hilarious (and some damn fine eye candy as well). They did a good job together. UT coming out and the little fatherly pat: rub? Respect? A pass at him? Do we care? I don't. UT does nothing for me and I don't get why he's still fueding with FBI. Chuckie wrestling with cigar = f-ing hilarious!!!

Bradshaw, that was my first time really seeing him...wow...different. Works for me.

I love Nidia. That whole little segment was great..."baby - we're going to Applybee's tonight!!!" Classic!

Saw the Matt v Kishi match...okay. Matt needs a really good fued with someone. He needs to gain a few pounds and get out of the cruiser weight division. Though, since he wretled Kishi I guess he did...no tournament. What's with this tourney? Is there a grid somewhere to watch this or do we have to just guess who's in tourney matches?

Steph's chest looked HUGE last night!!!

Then I missed the rest. Oh well. Pissed I missed Kurt. And Sean. *sigh*

Well having seen Smackdown at 4PM on a Saturday afternoon, my comments are a tad late. It was a good show, and it was mostly enjoyable. I did really enjoy Zach's promo too. He said what I was thinking! Also I must say that he's really cute too. Very attractive guy there. Seriously, once you've seen Vinnie Mac's ass, it's not like you're missing anything anyway. It has a crack, end of story. I knew that Piper and O' Haire wouldn't last, but now I hope to hear more from Sean. He can speak better than most. He's rather sweet looking with the satan-style ponytail too... Well, Cena's doing well, good to see he learned some good lessons from Camp Angle. Billy Blanks, I mean, Orlando Jordan wasn't bad at all. I LOVE Nidia and Jamie Noble, and it's great to see them get a windfall after all the hard times they have faced. I want to see more of these two pronto...on Smackdown, not Velocity. I guess that's all I can think of, oh, Show vs. Gowan and Steph? Whatever. I'd give RAW the slight edge for the week, just because they had Foley.

I have to agree with Ana - the posedown lost all value for me about 6 seconds into HHH removing the jacket. Someone went a little heavy on the bottle tan. HHH's physique is impressive, but Scott Steiner's is just gross.
