What a fun movie! I didn't know any of the back story to this, so I think they did great establishing everybody. Tons of laughs, tons of inside jokes, and the best use of a Chicago song in a movie, EVER.
Not sure why two people brought 7 year olds to see it, but they aren't my kids to have to go explain things to.
I saw it Thursday night, also going in knowing nothing, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't have more than that, though, so I couldn't bring myself to start the thread. No kids at a 10:45 showing, thank goodness.
I think I expected more gore, so I was glad there wasn't so much?
I don't know if Gina Carano was wasted or really that's about all she can do on screen so I shouldn't be asking for more.
Big fan of the character for a few years now and they did him lots of justice. Some of the language was unnecesarry, but the movie definitely benefited from the R rating in showing DP's usual sick ways of dealing with things. Or punching metal things and breaking himself, etc etc.
I thought the romance was really well done, and the same for the comedy and the violence. I had high hopes (and fears) for this one but it all worked out wonderfully and I'm really excited they get to make a 2nd one already.
The opening credits were awesome. Put you right in the mood. Oh and a shocking non-Cameo cameo (ya know,

Wolverine/ Hugh Jackman actually NOT being in it or at least not in person
I greatly enjoyed this, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that the part I'm obsessed with right now is Deadpool's hometown. Was the city that rhymes with fun a local drop-in, or was it consistent everywhere?

It was Regina everywhere, hence the rhyme joke.
EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't know that was an ollllld joke about Regina. But yeah, the line was everywhere.
(edited by SchippeWreck on 16.2.16 1355) Everything is awesome.

Just checking, because that stunned that crap out of the Regina theatre I watched it in.
Edit: To be clear, what I was wondering was if, say, Cleveland theatres had Deadpool announcing "from Cleveland, Ohio, the mistake by the lake!"

Nope, saw it somewhere north of Boston and they kept it as Regina.

Loved Deadpool. So much. Five out of five stars. It set the tone for what it was all about right from the credits and stuck to it all the way. Just like Scream worked as a horror movie while commenting on horror movies, this did the same for superhero movies. All the fourth-wall breakage just hit me the right way, even the post credits scene. I was getting frustated for not cracking up more at some of the hilarious rapid fire jokes coming out. Maybe they were in shock. I wonder if the other Marvel movies are going to seem tame now upon rewatch.
Saw it today in IMAX and it was awesome. From the opening scene to the Ferris Bueller ending, it delivered.
However, I remained STUNNED how many parents are bringing their kids to see this movie. It's rated R for a reason. I looked around the theater today (6 pm showing) and saw kids younger than 10 there. My youngest is 11 and I couldn't even imagine sitting next to him during certain scenes.
I believe it was Keanue Reeves in Parenthood who said: You need a license to buy a dog, or drive a car. Hell, you need a license to catch a fish! But they'll let any butt-reaming asshole be a father. So wise Keanu. So wise.
Life is hilariously cruel.

I actually thought this was a weak episode that was saved at the end by Michael and Dwight's impromptu concert. But they all can't be ***** episodes so I will give it e "Meh" and move on. Next week should be great.
