Why not both? Daily updates about running for mayor?
I was hoping for a nice write-up at the end of it all, detailing the whole process and everything you experienced. Sounds like it might be a cool story.

In April, my dad was elected mayor of the village I grew up in. It's a small village, under 2,000 people, but he's already frustrated with dealing with the folks who work there (not necessarily the general population) and all the squabbling that goes on. After hearing his stories, I can't imagine running a place the size of Minneapolis.

I noticed you don't have a picture listed under Candidates on the wikipedia page for this race.

Any reason why we can't submit this one?

Never having been to your city, I won't be voting. I am interested in knowing what your motivations are and what what the process is like. Please update when there is a facebook page or otherwise and best of luck.

Yeah, 'cause it's like 20 years old.

http://facebook.com/CRZforMayor is live, has a lovely cover photo my wife took under duress and already has some very wordy daily updates. Go ahead and Like it!

Christopher Robin Zimmerman: For The W. For Mayor.

Also, I noticed that Rybak isn't on there (Does he not need to be as an incumbent? Is that how that works?). But you know who is on there?

RT is not seeking another term. When I toyed with this idea four years ago, I pretty quickly dismissed the idea, deciding I didn't dislike him enough to run against him. It's also why I didn't opt to run for City Councilman - I like our guy enough to not run against him. (Keep in mind that whether or not I run against these dudes would have approximately zero effect on their chances of re-election.) (It could be argued that this campaign will have the same effect - we shall see!)

But I am heartened that someone else made fun of The Rock before I could. I'm going to start talking about other candidates on Monday, I think. We're up to 11, but because none of the "big" candidates have registered yet, having taken a quick peek at all the other guys...I feel like I'm definitely in the Top 3!

Curiously, CEOIII won't post over here, but he was kind enough to invoke the message board over on the Facebook page (facebook.com) - I encourage all my mindless, sheeplike yes men to make sure and read that one. (You can read AWA's much more positive post as well!)

13 WEEKS TO ELECTION DAY!

With one week remaining in the filing period, there are currently 16 candidates, but only one of the "top tier" candidates has filed. (They may have an easy time if the other two or three ... or eight ... don't file! But that seems unlikely.)

Not a lot of new stuff added to the office decor in the last eight months. Good luck with the campaign. It sounds like you have the right attitude to go about getting some votes for the non-one party folks!

This video has me so excited that I am looking into making another business trip to Minneapolis just so I can spend a couple of hours between my meetings volunteering at Campaign Headquarters.

I very nearly died reading this. Especially:

I'm just imagining the mudslinging ads that would air talking about how you stomp out free speech on your message board, complete with a photo negative screenshot of "The-W.com" and the stereotypical "BEEEEOOOOOOWWWWWW" drop.

Looks like a lot of career politicians in this list. One dude has run for office 12 times? Take a hint, man. You could certainly show well as the alternative candidate, Chris.

So the Minneapolis race has made local news in Milwaukee, if not CRZ himself.

http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/223659211.html

I found it interesting/amusing enough to share.

(Thanks to CRZ for re-opening the thread, despite your misgivings about the particular message. )
