I'm guessing the dates are right for the Rangers/Pens series, even if it says the games are in Philadelphia and Montreal...
In any event, even though the NHL is probably a little irked that they're not getting Crosby vs. Ovechkin, these are all decent matchups. Montreal looks vulnerable after the Bruins series, and that win last night could put Philly on a run, call it Flyers in 6. I'll make it an all-Pennsylvania conference final as well, Pens in 7, and Crosby is going to make the leap into the Finals, Pens over Flyers in 6.
On the other side, let's get Detroit in 7, and Dallas in 6, setting up a Wings/Penguins final, with Pittsburgh taking it in 6.
Of course, before the LAST round started, I was looking at a Montreal/Minnesota final, so I'm already 0-for-1.
2 wrong in the first round. Don't see the West much during the season, so wasn't sure about how good Dallas was... Hey, they're pretty good.
Also got the Flyers/Caps wrong, but hey anything can happen in OT of a game 7.
Round 2...
Montreal over Philly in 5
No way Biron keeps his game 7 performance up. He's the only reason they won that game. What a fantastic 3rd period and OT... Habs had their scare in Round 1, it won't happen again.
NYR over Pittsburgh in 7
This should be a fantastic series, and I am not sure why I pick the Rangers, but I think them getting over the Round 1 hump was big. May be it's the Avery factor, more likely it's Lundquist over Fleury.
Colorado over Detroit in 6
Going out on a limb with this one, but I think this Avs teams has this one final run in it, before Sakic calls it a career. They have such a great mix of young (Stastny, Wolski, Svatos) and old (Sakic, Forsberg, Hejduk, Theodore).
San Jose over Dallas in 7
Like Montreal, SJ has had a scare. I think they win what should be a really good series. I imagine it could go either way, but I think SJ is better overall.
There's a World Container with your name on it, and a billion ways to go bezerk!!

I like the way you think.
Detroit swept them in the regular season before the trade deadline, but the Avs of today are a completely different team from then. Not to mention Detroit's tendency to choke in the second round in recent years.
That being said, I'm cautiously optimistic. The Avs need to make this a tough series if they want to move on.
