Code Monkeys was very good. However, the second season either took too long to produce or there was not enough material to go past season one, so the ratings tanked. I would have liked more, but an 8-bit show on a TV station that barely has original programming is going to be tough.

If NBC realized Community was good to have because of it's cult following and social media advantages, they sure did a piss poor job of promoting it that way. I find people all the time that just found Community and love it and they are people that should have been watching it all along.
CBS can show a 15 to 30 second clip of The Big Bang Theory or How I Met Your Mother and USA can show clips of their dramas and I get it. I don't remember Community even getting much of that, but had it it still wouldn't have done the trick. It's a word of mouth show, but NBC could have used that social media edge to it's advantage.
This is going to be one of those shows that you hear of people finding after it's all done and wondering how they missed it all these years.
I think the optimism for next year is that 1) the writers have been indoctrinated by Harmon Boot Camp and will steer the ship home, and 2) everybody basically cleared the hurdles of their 3-year story arcs in the finale -- except for Annie, who kind of did it in Virtual Systems Analysis -- which means according to the sacred story circle, part 4 was already supposed to be a dawn-after-the-dark victory lap anyway.
For me, and while I liked Code Monkeys for a while, it was just too busy of a show. I got most all the jokes, but it moved too fast. When we know the Community characters and how they act, they will be funnier in that video game setting than the characters from Code Monkeys.
While I loved Digital Estate Planning, I would not want a whole season of that kind of thing. Just like Paintball, it wouldn't work as a whole series. Still, I would recommend people watch some eps of Code Monkeys if they like DEP.

Background! Andy Bobrow is credited on "Geography of Global Conflict" and "Pillows and Blankets," plus three season 2 eps. The Steve Basilone & Annie Mebane duo are credited on "Regional Holiday Music" and the season finale.
Also: That one post with all the embedded tweets from the parody account seems like exactly the type of tomfoolery discouraged on The W.

I am not even a big fan of the show and I found those tweets, hysterical. Stop being a killjoy, Alby.

My thinking was that the account isn't really doing much to distinguish itself as a parody (nowhere does it say "We're not really these guys, just kidding!"), so I figured NBC's lawyers would be having it pulled any minute, and their little quips were just too funny not to have them archived somewhere ...

Inevitable: a reddit user has created a video game based on Digital Estate Planning. You can download it here, for Windows, OSX and Linux. It's a work in progress and not that long, just up to the town.
