FSU. FSU. FSU. I doubt we see them ever get to 6-0. Geno is for real. LSU has no QB. Georgia should never be ranked higher than 15, they are complete frauds. Notre Dame's defense maybe as scary as Bama's defense. Oregon rules on and its becoming clearer that the SEC will be in the national champions ship game even though I question if LSU and Georgia are actually good teams.
The Wee Baby Sheamus.Twitter: @realjoecarfley its a bit more toned down there. A bit.
They didn't recover the onside kick, so the point is moot, but, if you are Texas, do you consider kicking the field goal earlier in the drive in order to have time for an onside kick and a shot at the touchdown, rather than using time to get to the touchdown where even if you recover the onside kick your only chance is a heave to the end zone? Georgia no showing is, well, Georgia. They showed a lot of bad signs the week before when Tennessee came back on them. Wonder if Florida would have run the ball all those times in a row down the stretch against LSU had they still had the distinct schematic advantage of Charlie Weis calling the plays? When does the distinct schematic advantage at Kansas begin by the way? Notre Dame's secondary still shows some concern. Front 7 is best they have had since the Holtz era, and perhaps since the Ara years. There are so many things with Florida State. 16 point lead against a team that gave up almost 600 yards passing the week before and not being able to score in the second half. Playing not to lose down the stretch with play calling in order to play to punt the ball. Not going max punt protect in order to prevent a block, which really was NC State's only shot of winning the game. Almost a perfect storm of bad play/execution/decision making to knock FSU out of the national title race, and also to make the ACC irrelevant for the rest of the year. Has Nebraska fired Bo Pellini yet?
FSU didn't need max protect for that punt, they needed the right side blocker to not totally whiff on his block. It wasn't numbers, it was Heplea screwing up.
But really, I'm tired of seeing Fisher turtle in close games. He gets so damn conservative, and loses his head. It works sometimes, but it sucks to watch. I'm still feeling good enough about this team to believe they can win out from here and I'm happy enough if they do. If they lose to another team they should stomp...well the pressure on Fisher may finally get to the point where he lets someone else call the plays. He needs to.
Georgia...I really like Richt, but does anyone see them ever being more than what they are with him? With Fisher at least I can say it's only been a couple full seasons. Richt has no excuse at this point.
I said a few weeks ago I wondered if South Carolina might be able to challenge Bama. I'm really starting to believe the old ball coach could win it all this season. And with the way the Big 12 looks, it wouldn't shock me to see something crazy like a SC vs WV championship game. All depends on if someone in the Pac12 can challenge Oregon really.
Is Sonny still doing the games while intoxicated? He sounds drunk as hell every time I heard him call a game. The best ones are the preseason scrimmages against Pittsburg. Seems like has been drinking since the night before.
