In September, I wrote on here, "He might've gone out with an entertaining match vs. one of his oldest rivals at one of the largest wrestling shows of all time. Leave the memories alone. Go home to your cool wife and weird dog and watch some hockey and please just relax and try to be in a better place. I thought he was when he came back two years ago... but I guess maybe not..."
Orrr... get that bag from TKO?
Supposedly Rollins' ringside freakout reaction was a work (Rhea's clearly was since it was funny) but I'm pretty sure he legit doesn't really care for Punk...
IF he's on a part-timer's schedule and can stay healthy and on his best behavior... maybe he can get a happy ending? But this is CM Punk we're talking about... so who knows.
When I bought Wrestlemania tix a few months ago, there was no way I expected to hear "Cult of Personality" that weekend... but now?
I haven't posted for a while but have watched from afar. This is my immediate thought...
Punk comes out tomorrow night and is a hero. Rollins comes out to confront him and Punk lays him out. Priest runs out to cash in and becomes the champion. Punk laughs. Seth v Punk becomes a major fight for the Rumble and maybe longer.
After than I have no idea! Probably wrong but sounds good to me and would love to see what happens from this.
I always thought the right storyline for this was Punk v Cena at the WM Main Event as kind of an Ultimate Company Man vs Ultimate Outsider match (maybe refed by Stone Cold).
Punk's story is he doesn't just want to main event WM, he wants to WIN WM Main Event to show he's bigger than WWE. Cena comes back to stop him. Writes itself.
I honestly wasn't surprised to see him. He loves a big stage, and he really loves making a big scene out of spite. And, really, I'm kind of glad he's back? He didn't do a whole lot for me in AEW, and that media scrum was an absolute nightmare (for real, if you never actually watched it yourself, it's so much worse than any description ever did justice), but he does get everybody talking, doesn't he? The in-ring stuff almost pales next to thinking about what kind of shenanigans Punk's going to get up to backstage. Who's going to piss him off first? How? Who's going to start it? I mean, it's a different animal, since none of the guys in WWE are "executives," so there's a better division of management, and it's a more controlled environment in general, but still.
Originally posted by Matt TrackerIf he tries to recapture the Colliders vibe, give him DIY as running buddies. Use him to elevate guys who just can't get over like Kross and Lumis.
But an angle with Logan Paul would get maximum ESPN coverage. I'd go in that direction.
Not to mention we might see the return of the Punkshot Lariat.
That return was possibly the loudest pop I ever heard. I missed it because i turned the tv off once the logo appeared!
Weird thought here- that RAW promo was a little odd. That last line especially: I'm here to make money not friends.
Punk has to know the optics of this sort of about face, and the various things Ive been reading and hearing seem to be critical of Punk for basically going against everything he has been saying since he left WWE. I dont necessarily agree but still...
Are we witnessing the birth of a new heel CM Punk? A hypocritical sell out character arc?
This dude is a huge hypocrite and a liar and a scumbag, and I am kinda upset that he said nothing of note on Raw, but he got me watching. At this point in my fandom, I just want to be entertained, so to quote MJF, he’s my scumbag. The pop was truly incredible, but nothing will top Austin’s return to help Mick Foley win the WWF title. It is certainly top five though for sure.
