Just saw this posted from her verified Facebook page (facebook.com)...

Details will be forthcoming, I'm sure, but considering this just got announced less than half an hour ago...

Pro Wrestling Sheet has a report confirming it, though they didn't know the exact cause either. (And their site is done now.)

Wikipedia has updated it (for whatever it's worth), but I can't find it on WWE.com (for whatever that's worth).

Unfortunately one of those "A shock, but not really" situations.
Seems she just never found the stability she needed.

No matter what happened with her after her WWE departure, she was a trailblazer, probably the first (modern era) woman who was over without being all about sex appeal.
She was unique in look and found a way to made it work for her. As bad ass bodyguard to DX and then Eddie's mamacita she was awesome.

If Chyna wasn't essentially black balled she might have gotten some of help she needed. Her imprint wasn't much smaller than some who constantly get help and was certainly bigger than a lot of others who do as well. I thought she was as coll as anybody at the time. It's a sad story made sadder by her unique situation.

Read it and weep, fella

As troubled as she was, this was the one wrestling death that I refused to believe right away until I saw it reported by multiple sources. It just didnt seem real to me for some reason.

This one really gets to me. I had always hoped the best for her as she had that troubled story. I'm quite saddened by this news.

I guess now she can go to the HOF with HHH accepting it. I figured they would never let her back, because of the porn, yet they should have done the HOF while she was alive or randomly show up on a Raw.

The pair entering the arena after their prom date, and Eddy wrestling with the bow tie is glorious wrestling. She was a crucial part of his move to the main event.

I wish she could have enjoyed the same resurrection as Scott Hall.

Now that Prince had died, seeing some "Chyna just can't catch a break" messages. I only laughed because it's just so true.

Surprised by both today.

Mark Madden -

Sorry to hear about Chyna. Now WWE will put her in HoF so they can get something out of it but she can't. You watch. ‪#‎RIPJoanieLaurer‬

There's some truth to that, but the reason she was never put in the HOF was Chyna had obvious emotional and substance issues after leaving WWE (and likely befoer.) This is a weird sentence to type, but saying the porn movies were keeping her out of the HOF was a polite way to distract people from the uglier reality. She wasn't in the HOF because they didn't believe she could get thru the whole weekend without an embarrassing sad moment, and the WWE HOF is much more about creating happy moments than getting the right people in it.

There probably should still be some embarrassment to WWE that she passed away so young, but we don't know what they did or did not try to do. All we know is she was a person who clearly needed help for years, and couldn't find it or couldn't accept it.

I believe she's not in the HOF because they were afraid of the potential she had to do something horrible and embarrassing while still alive and they didn't want to end up associated with that.

Now that she's gone, they'll honor her.

Can we please go one whole week without another wrestler (or musician) dying? Please?

I was really hoping she would get her act back together and be able to do something within WWE. She was a true pioneer when she first arrived. RIP.

HHH explicitly said, on the Stone Cold Podcast, that she wasn't getting in the Hall of Fame because Googling her brought up her porn career and PG WWE couldn't allow that. Her death isn't going to change that.

It took 4 years for Randy Savage to be inducted following his death. I don't see Chyna getting in any time in the near future.

Ostermeyer? He's not even the best writer at 411! At least you could hope for Grutman and he could bring in Dog Man Ape as his valet. Or they could bring in Eric S. and he could get the PTC back on the WWF's case within about 2 minutes of his debut.
