I would think this means the show gets canceled. (tvline.com)

I haven't seen the show since the pilot. Didn't it switch formats from single camera to multi-camera?

They were about to make the switch from single to multi. (Hence, her bailing)

I've never heard of a show switching it up like that, or can't think of any examples.

Happy Days switched from single to multi after its second season.

Edit: And apparently The Odd Couple switched after its first season.

I'm not sure how much she's getting from the next Anchorman movie, but I'd think it'd be enough for her to not need this crappy show anymore.

Alan Sepinwall does a good job of recapping just how many retoolings this show has been through in its brief time on the air: http://www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-watching/christina-applegate-quits-up-all-night

Personally, I thought it was decent enough for much of its first season, with the Applegate/Arnett chemistry keeping everything afloat. But yeah, it was no great shakes and my interest drifted away partway through last year.

Oh, that's right. We got those shots of The Fonz out in the parking lot of Arnold's. And also Chuck Cunningham.

Who gives a shit about the number of cameras when the stories week after week were all about her and Wil Arnett's character complaining about how uncool and unhip and out of the loop they were. This show was donkey shit from the get go, and no adding a phantom brother or whatever else they did was going to change it.

I loved the hidden "giant rat of Sumatra" joke within the episode. In the Doyle stories, Holmes talks about how the tale of the Rat is "a story for which the world is not yet prepared.
