PWInsider is reporting that Cesaro quietly exited the company after his contract expired. The report indicates both sides worked to come to a new agreement, but that one was not reached. Cesaro is out of contract, does not need to abide by any non-compete stipulations, and can sign with any company he wants.
I'd bet money that this wasn't about the money. It's not like I have any inside info, but the way guys have been getting cut, the first thing I'd want in a new contract with this company is some kind of assurance that a, let's say, 3-year deal is going last 3 years. This idea that you can sign an employment agreement that can be unilaterally terminated by them for any reason, but you're stuck there no matter what, is I think going to be a sticking point going forward.
But whatever the reason, hey, maybe he'll wind up somewhere where he gets featured a little more. I can't think of a more universally beloved figure in the industry, really, so here's hoping he gets what he deserves. And if nothing else, we're now 75% of the way to reforming Da Party. That's so, so close to new UNO content.
I can't believe he never got a title run. I really thought "I'M A PAUL HEYMAN GUY" was the start of something big for him. He had many great tag matches and six title reigns, but he never had that great singles push, and he was shabbily dismissed immediately after his shot at Roman's belt.
There are a lot of wrestlers you see moving away from WWE and wonder how the company never capitalized on their potential, and Cesaro is right at the top of that list.

I could actually see Joe losing to Breeze, albeit via cheating/flukey fashion. The result, of course, being an enraged Joe going all Path of Rage and getting his title shot by beating the living hell out of Finn and Crews alike.
