First off, I don't follow nearly enough women's hockey. All I know is they've won enough hardware in the past decade or so to fund small countries. And all reports indicate that this year is no exception to that rule.
As for the men, few suprsies from what I've seen. And I think that's a good thing. I like the incluesion of Adam Foote, simply because dispite poor numbers, you can rest easy in the last minutes of a clutch game, he'll be taking care of business.
Don't know if I like the selection of Nash, he's been hurt too long this year and may be rusty. I'd rather throw Spezza in there and have him run wild. Maybe that'll happen still, who knows?
Oh, and to the rest of the world? I apoligize on behalf for the rest of my fellow Canadians that sadly it only gets worse. There's some fellows by the name of Staal (Carolina), Spezza (Ottawa), McCabe, (Leafs), Sheldon (Habs), Dion (Calgary), Marlou (Sharks), and Crosby (Pittsburg), and who knows how many fench Canadian goalies under the age of 25 NOT be on the first team and won't be making the trip this time. They're all going to be watching on TV. They won't be watching Tv next time. Scary, scary.
(edited by El Nastio on 21.12.05 1747) To celebrate the upcoming Troll Amnesty (and for otherwise no reason at all), I present to you the very best of Trolling here on The W. This Troll Moment of the Week is brought to you by;
ChrisJo, who brought us such pieces as wisdom as: "What does that have 2 do with anything? U want proper spelling, read a book. All I want is for someone to actually express some sort of opinion about this subject. I thought this was a WRESTLING forum."
G: Martin Brodeur, Roberto Luongo & Marty Turco D: Rob Blake, Adam Foote, Ed Jovanovski, Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger, Wade Redden & Robyn Regehr F: Todd Bertuzzi, Shane Doan, Kris Draper, Simon Gagne, Dany Heatley, Jarome Iginla, Vincent Lecavalier, Rick Nash, Brad Richards, Joe Sakic [Captain], Ryan Smyth, Martin St. Louis & Joe Thornton
The "Taxi Squad" that'll fill in as injuries allow: D Bryan McCabe, F Jason Spezza & F Eric Staal.
Most folks on Calgary talk-radio today were whining about the inclusion of Todd Bertuzzi.

The "Well, he's a good Cole Harbour kid" point of view just doesn't cut it with me...
And he'll still be a "good Cole Harbour kid" in 2010. He'll also be 22. Dion Phaneuf's exclusion makes sense, too, when you keep that in mind. Odds are Blake, Foote & Sakic won't be around then.

Originally posted by The GoonI think I heard that the Canadian Olympic Committee was having a meeting today to determine if Bertuzzi was "worthy" enough to be an Olympian.
Yeah, and they said he's fine. TSN or Sportsnet or someone was saying that anyone hoping (for whatever reason) that Bertuzzi gets kicked out should just forget it because they've allowed many, many people with criminal pasts take place in the Olympics as long as their penalty is over.
I wish the Winnipeg Sun hadn't been so stupid as to put "Bertuzzi In, Crosby Out" on their front page. My first thought was "When the fuck was Crosby 'in'?" I get that The Sun writes every column like it's a wrestling match, and they need faces and heels or else they feel that they just don't have anything to print, but it was a pretty pathetic attempt to create controversy when there wasn't any. Even by their standards.
You got a problem with Hull?? Certainly! The plus sides include liquor at all the stores, and cheap rent. Downsides include EVERYTHING ELSE. I still tried to land in Hull anyway... Nobody would take me.
