Welcome home, men of the 2nd Bn, 127th Inf, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, WI Army Nat'l Guard! Good luck to those down south.
This just suck-diddly-ucks. Way to waste that sweep of the Cards from a week or so ago...and not just drop back 5 games in the NL Central, but lose the wild-card lead, too.
"Dress rehearsal," my *ss. At least Prince Fielder had solo homers in back-to-back games.
And sure, the Crew's front office management is happy with the sellouts...but so damn many of those folks going through the Miller Park turnstiles were Cubs fans. F'n Cubs fans. In Milwaukee.
I've officially had it with the "my-daddy-was-an-NL-fan-when-the-Braves-left-in-1963-so-he-raised-me-on-Cubs-baseball" card. Where's your pride, Wisconsinites?
In the interest of presenting alternative views, I enjoyed the sweep very, very much. And had I been working in Mke this week, I would have found a way out to the park - I am, by the way, a Brewers fan at all times, except when they play the Cubs. I do a lot of Miller park visits.
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

And then nearly had a meltdown at the end of the series to the point that the ump had to tell him to tone it down a notch. The mental toughness isn't quite there for the Brew Crew yet. But it'll come eventually, and when it does, they won't be stopped.
This series just continues to show that everything is going the Cubs' way this year. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, is pointing to a Cubs World Series.
It'll just mean that much more pain in Chicago if it doesn't happen.
I'm not going to play the 'my-daddy-was-a-Braves-fan" card. Instead, I'll say that WFRV 5 in Green Bay (not The Thrill's employer) used to broadcast Cubs games in the late 60s and early 70s. I grew up in Green Bay, and have the local TV station to blame for being a Cubs fan.

I just want to make a point about how insufferable you've been today. More so than usual.
I think the Brewers will respond to this pretty favorably. They have a set with the Braves coming up followed by the Reds, Nationals, and Padres. They have another set with the Cubs at the end of the season. But if the Cubs stay on this pace, it may not matter. Their rotation is as strong as any in either league.
Originally posted by thecubsfanBrewers are still 1.5 GA in the wild card. The sweep cost them most of that lead, but it doesn't really matter how you get it but that you get in.

The Brewers and Cardinals are tied for the Wild Card lead, 2.5 games ahead of the Mets.

I don't currently have another trip to Milwaukee scheduled until after the season this year - My last trip: All star week - but I did get to go to the opening of the Harley Museum. A bit of a letdown there.
