No, this episode was definitely better than the first. I don't think it's ever going to be a top fave of mine, but it's watchable. The bunny-hat kid is growing on me. (What was it? "She likes to mess with people she thinks are stupid.") And very much liked where it dropped into The Shining bar scene.
Gotta agree with the majority this time. This was MILES better than the first episode, although some of the same problems still exist for me. The sampling from the boy for his class bit was pretty great.

Who was it that asked if the car took Diesel, and then put regular gas in the tank, even though there was a big DIESEL ONLY sticker on the door of the gas tank? (I only watched about 15 minutes before falling asleep)
