The Charlotte Bobcats have traded their very first draft pick in franchise history, sending Emeka Okafor to the New Orleans Hornets in exchange for Tyson Chandler.
Now to see if this one sticks. Just before the trade deadline last season, Chandler was traded to Oklahoma City, but the trade was rescinded by the Thunder after Chandler failed his physical.

Okafor is 14/11 in his career, younger, and he didn't fail a physical in the past season. This seems like one of those Larry Brown falling in love, then out of love with a player situations. Chandler will probably be in his doghouse by Thanksgiving, while Okafor will be on a team contending for a division title.

Wow. Unless Brown can straighten up and fly right (and I don't think Kobe's a good example for him to live up to), this is a bizarre trade by the Lakers. Good acquisition for the Wiz, though, even if they were only getting Butler.
