Best Match - Gotta be Gunther/Drew/Seamus Best Entrance - Bianca Belair Best Spot - I'm going to go with the Logan Paul splash on the mascot through the table. Honorable mention to Snoop's people's elbow, and for Snoop in general making me not realize that segment was a shoot until the post-match press conference. Best Outfit - Asuka
Worst Match - Dominik/Rey Worst Entrance - Imp Balor as per usual. I hate Imp Balor more than anything in the E. Was it a work when the medics came in? Apparently I can't tell these things anymore. Worst Spot - Shane tears his quad. What is it with McMahon's & weak quads anyway? Honorable mention to Cody's bionic elbow which has got to go, or at least get used as a throwaway in the beginning part of a match, not as a real move in the heat of main event match. Completely kills the vibe. Second honorable mention goes to Snoop Dogg's running the ropes for the people's elbow. Worst Outfit - Seth Rollins by a mile, followed by Drew McIntyre
Not gonna use the B&W format, but instead use this to spew my stream-of-consciousness thoughts on Cody Losing:
Hunter spun in it the post-show press conference as the story being far from over... but you can turn the page and tell a different story. Because the question for a long time was, "who is left to beat Reigns?" Then they had TWO options in Sami and Cody and went with neither. So now who? Cody at a lesser PPV? Jay White? Bron Breakker? MAIN EVENT JEY USO? Someone from UFC under order of Endeavor? My pick: Gritty at Mania here in Philly next year.
The story of "Who is Roman if he isn't a champion? Who are the Bloodline with no belts?" is a very interesting and new and different story to tell.
(This was also the ONLY match I predicted incorrectly in that other thread too...)
Best Match - Bianca/Asuka Best Entrance - Bianca Best Spot - Asuka ate a beefy powerbomb flat on the floor, but Gable giving Braun the Chaos Theory was incredible. Best Outfit - Logan Paul's outfit was sharp. I also liked Edge's ramp costume even though it had nothing to do with the Brood.
Worst Match - The four way women's tag match, and I have to think it was ended quickly because of an injury. Worst Entrance - Shotzi's tank couldn't come to Mania?! Heartbreaking. Worst Spot - Sioka coming back to the main event match. The ref saw him but let his pinfall stand. What's the point of a ref throwing anyone out if they can come back? Worst Outfit - I'll say Dom.
Finn is tweeting images of being attended at rignside and his scalp backstage afterward, and it is very much real and scary. They did an amazing job keeping him going.
I told my son I didn't think Cody had done enough in WWE to be the one to beat Roman, but I was convinced his last rush of moves was going to win it for him.
The Miz matches were bad, even before Shane came out and fell apart. Lashley wanted a match. LA Knight wanted a match. It's right there, people. Don't overthink it.
Unless we're going to Cody's second HITC match in a year, I don't see how he gets another credible shot at Roman. Maybe this wasn't the best build for a Roman title loss, but it was Cody's best build for a title win. Even if he beats Theory for a consolation belt, that's all it can feel like: a second place medal.
I'm curious what happens with Judgment Day now. There are a lot of fun tag title matches to be had for a while. We had a fun time watching all this, except for that deflating ending.
"To be the man, you gotta beat demands." -- The Lovely Mrs. Tracker
Best The epic feel of the entire thing. From the ramp to the pyro & special effects and the in-ring action. Most matches told great stories and had decent-good wrestling. On both nights the main events delivered and felt huge.
Worst: Shane coming out. Was anyone waiting for him? Even worse was Shane going down. That sucks for the guy.
Best Match - Several really good ones, but for my money, Ripley/Flair Best Entrance - If Edge hadn't also done his regular entrance, then I probably would have picked him, so instead I'll go with Dom. Best Spot - I think the only thing that really got me to exclaim out loud was the Chaos Theory on Strowman, but honestly, a couple of the near-falls in both main events came close. Best Outfit - I think I go with Dom again, wearing his father's mask and echoing the legendary Halloween Havoc gear.
Worst Match - Brock/Omos, no question. I'm sure somebody liked it. Worst Entrance - Omos, just because it was so "plain jane." Like, where's the spectacle, man? His regular entrance isn't even very exciting. Worst Spot - Uh, Reigns going over, right? I don't have strong feelings about Cody, and the feelings I do have are negative, actually, so I'm not personally upset that he lost, but geez, that was the WRONG booking decision. I mean, INCORRECT. Worst Outfit - "worst" is maybe an exaggeration, but Cody. I thought the eagle wings were too much of a thinker. I just sat there going, "why is he wearing angel wings? What does that have to do with anything?" until my wife figured it out.
