This sucks. Undertaker is wrestling his best matches in years, finally is about to get a long title reign, and this happens. At least he'll be back by WM24 to continue the streak.
BTW, doesn't it seem like just about every major star in WWE is hurt right now? Edge worked through jaw surgery, Michaels has been putting off knee surgery for over a year now, Lashley's shoulder is injured, HHH and Rey are out for another month or two. And once Mark Henry gets back, there's 3-4 more guys on the IR

I laughed out loud when I read that last line. It's funny because it's true. Also sad. This sucks. Sucks for Undertaker and for everyone else.
When you say HHH is out for another month or two, are you talking about "as an on-air personality?" I thought he wasn't coming back to the ring until October.
It does suck for Taker and for those of use enjoying his efforts of late. But SD has Kane to avenge his brother if they want to keep Batista against a similar gimmick.

This is too bad, he has been on his best streak in years.
It would be a great way for Kennedy to cowardly cash in Money in the Bank. They could announce the injury and that the title may have to be vacated, and then Mr. K immediately demands the shot and beats an injured Taker. It would be a perfect set up for a feud when Taker returns, and he doesn't look weak for losing while injured. We know he doesn't like to job cleanly.
Kennedy could then feud with Kane in the meantime, which is a natural progression.
Dean! Have you been shooting dope into your scrotum? You can tell me! I'm hip!

When he first sustained the injury the estimate was that he'd be wrestling at Summerslam. Unless something changed since then, I assume that's still the target date.
Theoretically I suppose he could return in a non-wrestling capacity any day now--Shawn could always cart him down the ramp in a wheelchair, and they're selling DX shirts depciting him with crutches--but I'd think Hunter would want to save his return for when it can lead to a match.

This would be great, except for the fact that WWE.com announced today that Kennedy is going to cash in his Money in the Bank at WrestleMania 24.

If they're gonna patch over this, they should do something special. Kennedy jumping Taker at the start of SmackDown, beating him down, "injuring" him and claiming the world title would be perfect. It'd put him over huge, it'd keep a heel by making him a liar, and it'd be a hot match for Taker's eventual return.
To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Otherwise it is merely wires, and lights, in a box.-Edward R. Murrow
Yes, but he's also a sneaky little bastard. It's totally in-character for him to take advantage of 'Taker tonight and then gloat about how everyone fell for his "I'm not a coward" speech.

Exactly. It's as simple as saying that he knew the Undertaker was at the doctor in Birmingham on Monday so he made his announcement on Raw to lull him into a false sense of security. He didn't think he had to worry about Kennedy, but he was wrong.

This is true but have you heard the POPS he's been getting? Even the boos after he turned the crowd weren't that loud. Loud enough hear yes but it didn't feel like heat. I Kennedy is over the top as a heel and it wouldn't change to much if he turned.
Back on topic...jeez Taker was on a roll too! I like Kennedy getting the strap early but I'm going to place the wild card on Batista at the moment. Covers both of them as replacements for when he drops the strap.

Two things: 1- Don't EVER mock Ken Burns dammit, or there will be beatdowns being distributed like Halloween candy! Not only did his documentaries rock the house, but he's the only man who can make the fifth Beatle look work!
