In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Jesús Rodríguez (Ricardo Rodriguez) for 30 days effective immediately for his first violation of the company’s policy.
I guess that takes Ricardo out of the MITB PPV, so it looks like Del Rio's flying solo on that one. This is surprising. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN WWE!
Now would be the perfect time to match Del Rio to Zeb Coulter. That would be the basis of a really nice stable. Add a renewed heel Tensai and Wade Barrett, and I'd watch all that mess.

Now, I'll be the first to admit that logic mostly has no place in WWE but ... what permutation of logic would allow that to be anywhere near explainable?

The same logic that puts Super Swiss Cesaro with Zeb Coulter. And if it's made clear Coulter is willing to set aside his philosophy for all that money, we get double heeldom.

That's been explained as "He did it the RIGHT way -- legally. He worked within the system instead of sneaking across the border." So they've already drawn a distinction for Cesaro that they'd have to somehow circumvent for del Rio.
Thinking a bit more, though, perhaps the "for the money" thing might work -- but I think it'd work best if it led to a face turn for Swagger as part of it as the disillusioned American wondering why his mentor is now working with ferriners. But even that's a bit of a stretch.

It combines heel factions, gives Zeb a world title to brag about, gives the face challengers a gauntlet to run through, and and gives Del Rio an upgrade to an increasingly flat gimmick. Everyone wins.
But back to Ricardo. Hopefully they can explain his absence with a Dolph attack to give that angle a nudge.

They did. Dolph broke a guitar over his head.
Ricardo's absence takes one easy out away from the MITB title match. I'm going to guess AJ and/or Big E accidentally get Ziggler DQ'd, leading to their formal split. :(
