I thread this assuming all of you have read the BIG news. Yes, it is big, in fact, I say it's HUGE. I know today is a slow day for wrestling, and a big day of football, but check it.
You probably have seen the news with Rock. Vince, if he pulls this off, is brilliant.
Before i get to that, an interesting note is, in the Rocky Mountain News here in Denver they ran a three quarter size page column Alex Marvez wrote that also gets circulated to other newspapers nation wide.. A picture with cut line says "Stone Cold Steve Austin will return Feb. 23 on the No Way Out pay-per-view show and is expected to become a RAW regular."
So here's my shit. Vince is going to try to make WretleMania 19 a quadruple main event. Austin/HHH, Hogan/McMahon, Rock/Goldberg, Angle/Lesnar, not in that specific order. This card, main events alone will have something for EVERYBODY. Not to mention a stellar undercard from Team Angle, Los Guerreros, Booker and Goldy, Rey Rey, Benoit, Edge, Dudleys-- whew! WM 19 looks like it can redeem a lot of folks faith about this game we love so much. Sorry so long. Thoughts?
Boy, raw tenth anniversary? Bullshit. Kinda makes it not worth it, don't it.

I am dead serious when I say this. If WWE can get these five matches booked, as well as finding something to do with Booker, Edge, RVD, Kane, Undertaker, Benoit, Rey, Los Guerreros AND the cuiserweights, there will only be three words for this WM.
Best. Show. EVER.
Or at least the longest.

My two problems with this is that Austin shouldn't face HHH when he comes back. He should face RVD or Kane or someone who has been in the locker room while he has been away. He shouldn't get a shot at that title till at least SummerSlam. HHH should face Booker T for that title. Giving Austin, the belt and title shot after a month that he has been back is a slap in the face. He has to earn this spot.
The idea of Goldberg coming back sickens me. He is a little better than Stiener, a little bit. He is not talented and carriable on recent nights. The idea that Rock has to job to a guy who will only be there for one more match is equally as sickening add in its probably Rock's last match then, I don't want to order Wrestlemania, I don't care if they give the belt to Benoit and Jericho in that same night either. Golderg has three moves besides kick, punch and Edge does them all better than him anyway. I want to see Edge/Rock that way Rock can pass the torch to someone who can wrestle for more than one a month.
Those four dream matches really don't impress me too much. HBK/Jericho will be great as will anything the Smackdown Six could do. Angle/Lesnar is a smarks dream, but with Brock matches the outcome has been either very predictable or downright stupid. Hogan/Vince will at least be entertaining and funb. However, not punishing Austin and having Rock lay down to Quickfixberg is not my idea of a good Wrestlemania in fact it think its the worst.
A Fan- Man, I'm glad I am spending much on Wrestlemania this year.

This is a joke, right?
It's interesting that you used the word "earn"...cause that's something Stone Cold has done that nobody else on Raw has been able to do since he left...Earn Money For the Company.

It would definitely be the deepest show ever. And even if they only gave themselves a month to buildup the feuds, it couldn't be any worse than last years'. Booker/HHH would be more fun than Austin/HHH. Booker's ready.
So, are they just stalling right now? If we're getting all these big matches, when do the storylines start (with the exception of Angle/Brock)? Tonight?

Well, HBK/Jericho is well on it's way, and Hogan/McMahon kicked off last week. I'm thinking that HHH/Austin will get kick-started at No Way Out, and the Rock/Goldberg thing cannot reasonably begin until we're partway into the big-time WrestleMania hype. So right now, I'd say they're doing a pretty fair job of laying the table for the forthcoming feast.

The key is putting the people like Brock, Angle, RVD, Booker T, etc. in a position where they would look like the main focus of the PPV. Those guys are the future of the WWE and should be put in a position where people see them as future Wrestlemania headliners.
the rock/ goldberg and vince/hogan will probably attract a good number of fair-weather fans to buy the ppv. while rock, goldberg and hogan probably won't be around but a month or so after the show, those same fans that bought WM to see them will be exposed to angle/lesnar, a benoit match and a mysterio match.
My initial reaction is "wow, that's a hell of a loaded card." But when I look at it more closely I'm not as excited.
Lesseee here...
Rock/Goldberg No, no, no. Do NOT bring Goldberg in, it's just going to piss everyone else off already there. He's not worth hurting morale just so WWE can blow their load with a "dream match" between a guy who will be gone two months later, and...uh, the same thing for the other guy. Personally, I have very little interest in this match, as Goldberg does nothing for me.
Hogan/Vince Go ahead and do this one and let Hogan have his Hulk-up/boot/legdrop/pin/post-match pose routine to say good-bye to the fans, but I can't see it being anything good...although I did think the same thing about Hogan/Rock last year. Still, not only is Vince McMahon not nearly as good as The Rock, but the novelty of having the fans cheering Hogan won't be there.
HHH/Austin Been there, done that.
Angle/Lesnar This should rightfully be the last match on the show. Looking forward to this one.
Frankly, I'd rather that they shitcan the Goldberg idea and have RVD go over Rock, and maybe Booker vs. HHH for the Raw title, although I'm sure it would be asking too much for Booker to actually win the match.
Hopefully Steiner will be outta there by then, although I doubt it. I actually wouldn't mind a Steiner/Nathan Jones match, as it would be bad to the point of comedy, and probably make Hogan/Vince look like a masterpiece.
I'm interested to see what they have Undertaker do. I would expect him to fight Big Show, but if they have them at No Way Out and the match sucks, they might not bother (although they certainly aren't following that philosophy for HHH/Steiner).
Speaking as a Canadian, I thought Steiner was booed because he sucks and he works best as a heel. Same for why we cheer Angle, cuz he rules. Same as why Hogan was cheered. Hogan is a face, tried and true. We just know it instinctively.
