It looks like the Sunday night 49er-Cardinal game on October 2 will be in Mexico City rather than in Arizona. As the big soccer stadium there seats 100,000+, there will probably be more fans at the Mexico City game than in any other 2 Cardinal home games.
What are the odds that the NFL begins to treat Cardinal home games like baseball treated Expo home games? Arizona could play one in Mexico City, another in Monterrey and then some others in Toronto, Vancouver, etc. that could sell out a regular season game. Who knows; maybe even have them play a home game in London or Berlin.
Not likely givin the cards have a new stadium under construction. Many of the current problems with the Sun Devils stadium have been adressed (retractable roof for the heat, ect...).
If the Cards can put together some sort of competative team they should sell some tickets.

That, or they could just always play the Packers :)
Now THAT'D be a road trip for me to cover...think I'll bring my own water, though.
Can you imagine the draw if the NFL booked Packers/Cowboys in Mexico City? Break out the 100,000-seat soccer stadium, amigos...

The real downside of this game: As a Sunday Night game, rather than it being sent to about 1% of the country as a normal Cardinal/49er matchup would, it will be sent to 100% of the country. This would be a nice night for Vince to have his October PPV scheduled for.

That's the October 2nd game, right? I think I saw somewhere that the early October games on ESPN are usually intended to be stinkers because the league knows there's a good chance they'll go up against the World Series. Last year there was a Bears game on in early Oct that nobody watched, and it wasn't up against the World Series, but it could have been.

Cowboys/Raiders would draw better.
Sure, from the local fanbase...but you forget the thousands...AND THOUSANDS {/The Rock circa '98} of Packer fans, from Wisconsin and otherwise, who would see the game as an excuse for a Mexican vacation in October.
Nobody draws on the road like the Pack...especially in stadiums where the home fans don't routinely sell out. Cheesehead Nation is EVERYWHERE.

If it was Raiders/Cowboys in Mexico City, they wouldn't need anything but locals. And believe me, plenty of Raider fans in California would just use the game as an excuse to go visit home for a couple of days.
The yellow is really the worst one. It might look OK with a whole field full of guys wearing it, but I'm not holding my breath. The far right one looks best and the white is OK.
