i honestly didn't know that they still play arena football.
are there any NFL stars that made their name in the AFL?
"You can't fire a gun in a confined space! What are you tring to do, make us deaf?!" "Just get out of the chopper." "What?" "Get out of the chopper!" "The crops!?" - Jack Lemmon and James Garner, "My Fellow Americans", and the reason I say "The crops?" instead of "Huh?"

Looked at the AFL web site, but don't see any really big names in the league right now, although Kurt wasn't exactly a big name when he was there either...
Oh, and by the way Grimis, this is the only league that makes sense in it's playoffs. San Jose and Arizona were the two best teams in the season. So they're in the same division, who cares. The NHL and NBA could learn from this. Imagine a Detroit-Colorado Stanley Cup or a Sacramento-LA NBA finals...

Actually, although I no longer follow it, I used to have season tickets to the local games. Of course, the team no longer exists, which may be why I stopped caring (Pittsburgh Gladiators was the team). Its a fun game to watch and frankly, though there are similarities to football, its a completely different game.
Side note: A Detroit-Colorado stanley cup might actually make me projectile vomit onto my TV, as I watch more money being thrown around than at a billionaires batchelor party. Plus, I don't think they were the best teams in the league (and before anyone gets huffy, no I do not say that my team was better than them, we sucked)

Its an argument that belongs in the HOCKEY forum I guess, but who in the blue hell was better than Colorado and Detroit? Certainly no one in the East... Perhaps an argument could be made for San Jose! But the Avs beat them.
As for the money, who cares? I just want to see fun hockey being played, and they do it best....

I think I would go nuts because that would completely destroy the point of the conferences. I would have less of a problem if the conferences were no existant. Can you imagine, for example, a baseball situation where Anaheim would have to play Arizona in the playoffs and have 4 of 7 w/o the DH before the World Series?!?!?
No that was roller derby. They actually showed the Roller Hockey on ESPN. I remember a couple of teams(Anaheim Bullfrogs, New Jersey Rock n Rollers, Montreal Roadrunners) but I swore there was a team in San Jose.
Ok, so the game should have been over except for a guy tripping over himself at the line of scrimmage... Man, can Flutie screw up a little more in the clutch? I didn't see him in Buffalo, can anyone who did compare?
